On Star has an internet plan for your vehicle which acts as a 4G hotspot for the folks in your vehicle. As far as I can tell, it would act just like if you utilized a Hot Spot from Verizon or some such. If you would choose to go that route, I would suggest purchasing a hot spot from your cell provider and use that. I had a Verizon Hotspot and used it extensively for myself and my wife and it worked quite well. Data caps are the biggest issue and it's expensive. Later this year (soon), Starlink will be a good bet for about 99 bucks a month with advertised speeds up to 100 meg. Up front costs are $400.00 for the equipment (they are selling it at a loss by the way) and coverage may be a bit limited at first but eventually, they will put enough low orbit satellites up to cover everyone.
I have applied and am on a wait list.
