I found an extra strength concentrate made for power washers and put about 2-3 cups in a 3 gal bucket with some hot water. Seemed to do a descent job. Not bright white, but cleaned up nicely.

You might take it out and work it to see what is happening, or just hold the door open and make sure that it's working the latch. The nut could be loose that is holding the lock cylinder in place.
