Hitch Height (Again!)

Just want to double check the numbers as I am new to towing and the RV world.

I think “they” sent me home with the wrong hitch (height) on my new purchase. It seems to ride OK, but that isn’t the point. If I had more fully understood what was going on at the time it could have saved me time and hassle.

Basically it looks to me they selected a 2” drop hitch and what it needs is a 4” or 5” rise hitch. I’m willing to be wrong. See what you guys think.

The truck is a 2009 Ford Ranger 4WD supercab with 4.0 V6 with AT and a 2” hitch receiver. It measures exactly 18.5” from the ground to the top flat of the receiver tube flat. Full bag of gasoline, and a topper that weighs 150.

The trailer is a 2023 1200rk Coleman. I put a carpenter’s level all over that thing and got it straight and level, and in my driveway it measured from the ground to the bottom flat of the tongue dimension is 22.5” For sure driveways have some slope, but this overall looks like they fricked up.

Why didn’t they measure all this stuff when I was out there?

I could flip the Curt hitch over and at least achieve a 1” rise, but I don’t have the tools to remove the ball and torque the nut down, it looks pretty stout.

Looks like I need good ole #45336 ; ten bucks says they don’t have it in stock.
