Help with Satellite connection

I have a 2021 Coleman Light 1805RB with a Winegard Air antenna. I recently bought a portable satellite dish. I connected it directly to the receiver and it worked great. When I connect to the outside connector it does not work even when I turn the antenna amp off. Currently I have two coaxial cables coming out of the wall. One connected to the antenna booster and one connected directly to the TV. The rv dealership has told me the outside connector is for cable only. The specs for the rv state there is satellite pre-wiring. What does "satellite prewiring" mean? Is there a way to connect to the outside cable inlet. I would rather not feed it through a window.

Your satellite will not work through your coax system for the park. Your receiver supplies power to the dish and the system you currently have does not allow power to pass. Possibly look in the cargo compartment. By the way, they lie - ALOT!

Also, they often run lower quality coax cables throughout the RV and they lack the insulation and/or quality to allow your receiver to control the satellite.

It’s too bad and pretty frustrating that they label it as satellite but yet it doesn’t work.

Thanks for the tip. I agree... I have called them on a few lies which is why I thought I would try a forum to see if there is a solution. Thanks again for the help

by the way, prewired for sat may just mean that the power connectors are there. Once again, look in the cargo bay.

Would you happen to have a small "jumper" coax between two coax connectors on one plate? My Voltage has it, and I ran my satellite receiver "inline" with that jumper and all worked well to run satellite thru the outside coax connector.

Here is a simple mod to get sat through your cable.

I had same problem ran a new cable for satellites , and it worked fine. Ran a test coax in through the door to make sure that was the problem. Then ran new cable with NO splitter in the line, I can take pics if you would like
