Most of us can't get to the inside lube points because we don't own Winnebago coaches. The title of the video says for Winnie's. Does this mean we need to trade just to make a system work correctly?????

As it's only a single worm drive per track, I fail to see the point of having to spray both sides. Added both sides for good measure? I don't know, just spray a second or two longer and that will still get enough lube on the worm gear.

Not hardly a worm gear, rather more like a straight cut gear.

I just watched the video again. I never saw him lube the gear or the track. Only thing i saw getting lube was the coupler and gib block. Last i heard was from my dealer who warned me against lubing track due to eventual dirt build up on gear assy. Anyone seen anything from Lippert on lubing track assy?

There is the possibility of dirt buildup on the rack if one used a wet lube such as WD40. There is the possibility of dirt buildup anyway if the slide is extended.

A quick glance at the racks will tell when it's time to clean the racks if necessary. We both know the southwest has its share of blowing dust so lube or not the racks will catch dust, jack rabbits and tumbleweeds.

Sundancer is right. I suggest checking and cleaning tracks before retracting slides. Thats my plan.

My slides get out of alignment every so often but I reset like they told me and it seems to work. My living room takes 61 seconds to full out and 63 seconds to full in.

The procedure is to run the slide all the way out until it stops. After it stops keep holding the button for about 2 seconds to make sure you are all the way out. Then bring the slide in about a foot then move it back out again. (Each time hold the button down for about 2 seconds after it stops to make sure it is at max travel.) You do this 3 times and on the 4th time you bring the slide all the way in. Make sure when it is in you also hold the button for 2 seconds after it stops to make sure you are all the way in. Then run it out all the way one last time. This should sync all the motors and the slide.

Is this procedure in the manual? Maybe I missed it.
Thanks

Put that on your list too Sorry, couldn't help it. It will be interesting to see what the answer may be when you ask how this is accomplished.

Lol its on the list now! I would like to know where Hitman 007 heard this... I thought they synchronize during movements in and out each time they're used?? Maybe I did miss something.... wouldn't put it past me here lately.

I thought they would be syncronized when the button on the controller was punched 6 times and then held the 7th time until the LEDs flash.

Then a run in/out would get them back in sync. That seems to do the trick but who knows with these things.

I thought that was the override proceedure? Who's confused now... I guess we all are. Maybe someone will come along and learn us

Dunno Slim, but if the override procedure is used would it not override the set points for the slides and thereby reset the system to a new location?

I read this on another forum so I called Lippert when my brand new living room slide was not centered correctly. The tech at Lippert told that was indeed the procedure so I did it and it worked! My slide then retracted properly and evenly on both sides.

The override procedure is completely different for a stuck slide. There is something you can do at the "brain" of the slide that someone here referred to. Its in the book I think or on the Lippert web site. There is also the disconnecting the motors procedure which looks hard but I have never tried it. Also on the Lippert web site.

Thanks Bart for the comback. I'll keep this in mind.

Sundancer, I went back and read where when exiting the override it resets the motor positions. So It appears now there may be two ways to accomplish this.

I have popped motors, it's fairly easy to pop them out of their seat but much harder to get them back in. It took three of us to get a motor back in, one to toggle the switch, one to say when and the other to lean on the ladder. As with the Lippert videos, none of them tried in the field works like they do on the studio floor, fully exposed and empty.
The override procedure is suppsed to work for stuck slides but the motors still function in this mode. It would take a front end loader to push in a 13 foot stuck slide with all of its furniture and stuff stored under the seats. That's probably why the dealership that repaired mine used two fork lifts to hyper extend mine to replace motors and racks.

I have come to the conclusion that if they go most of the way out and come close to sealing when retracted to live and let live. It's a system not quite ready for prime time.

Check out a Thor Palazzo forum, big buck class As with the same system and problems.
