What my guy is telling me is that you have to pull them to see the bottom. The brass on the inside does not extend the entire length of the valve stem. Mine were a TR801HP He did not have a lot of info, said the rep came in and took all of his and replaced them with the new ones. Told him to watch for the brass through out the valve stem. I put bolt on heavy duty valve stems this time.

That article is dated from 2008 and these stems are still out there? Glad you got them off before you got hurt!

That explains why I had one go bad over the winter just sitting....thanks for the info.

That recall listed the 400 series not the 800. I will try and find out more info. I will see when he had all of his stock swapped out.

A lot of these places buy them by the thousand's, who can tell what or how long they sit in their bins.

Anyone know where to get a stock wheel from a voltage or anyone willing to sell one they have replaced?

Would like to replace the spare steel wheel with a matching aluminum wheel. This will allow me to rotate the spare in the mix.

Will a 235 85 16 fit ok on these voltages. Can get into the G load range without the big price jump to the 17.5 This may have been discussed already. If so I apologize. I've been trying to read every post.

Just put the Sailun S637 235/85r16 with no issues. Turned the unit around three times in a tight circle and all is good!

I've been running them on the stock wheels for a year now with no problems.

I know Goodyear has "G" rated tire as 16". If you look back at my posts you will see I had all 5 of those fail on my Teton back in the day. So you wouldn't see me recommending them on a 2 axle trailer. As us with 2 axles carry more weight per axle & tire than the 3 axle rigs I only recommend moving up to 17.5 tires & rims. I ended up having 9 tires fail before I wised up & spent the money & went with 17.5.
Twice I had 2 fail within 10 miles of each other. Once when it was 117 outside & I was 120 miles out of Las Vegas. Other time I was 60 miles out of Rock Springs Wy.
I got only one of those warrantied as it had just spit the tread off so I had a tire to take in. All the others blew big time.
By the way I was never overloaded & always check my air pressure before heading out so it wasn't me, (retired City fleet manager 500+ vehicles). I got that it's my fault from every dealer I went back too. I've been working on vehicles for 40+ years so I know alittle about tires.
First thing I did when I got my V3605 home was to swap tires with my Teton.
I'm taking it to Phoenix in a couple of weeks for my daughter to live in. So those brand new Voltage 16" tires only need to make it 250 miles. Sure hope they do.

For what it's worth....here is what I've learned about my new tires and wheels:

My original tires were Westlake 235/80R16. I replaced with Continental 235/75R17.5. When researching the new tires were only 1/2" taller than the originals and the same width. I measured the new tires when they arrived to compare with the originals and found the height calculations correct. The width are the same except that the tread on the ground is a full 1" wider than the originals. Here are pics to show those still doing research. One shows the new and original tires side by side and the other shows two new tires. Had to modify my fender skirting a bit but should work just fine.

No matter which way you go by switching to 17.5 rims & tires you're making a big improvement.
After reading all the tire problem stories, I don't thing anyone has had as many problems as me.
It's not a cheap upgrade but I sure wish I would have done it sooner.

I purchased the Continentals and have no regrets. It's a lot of money, but you won't be sorry. One of the earlier posts on this thread made the statement that you'll have a lot more money in body damage after a blow-out than the cost of the tires. Besides....now I sleep better at night. It will be interesting to see how many seasons we can put on these monsters!

Between the miles I put on my Teton & the Voltage my 17.5's have over 12k & they still look like the day I put them on.

Wheel ID Help Needed!

I've searched, read, pulled wheels and I still can't find the answer. Looking at my tire replacement options, and part of the choice is whether I have 85 or 110 psi rated wheels.

Wheels are 8-6.5 pattern from the casting on one spoke, 16x6J ETO on another, Max Load 3960 on another - and a blue sticker on the curb side of the wheel that looks to say 'JFW' inside a blue oval. No sticker anywhere to say the pressure rating.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

If rated for 3960 lbs no 16" tire will have that rating at 85 psi. You will need a 14 ply at 110 psi. As you have the same Voltage I do if you have seen my posts you will know the only thing I recommend is going to 17.5 wheels & tires.
