Sorry about that, here it is. Sturgeon Bay Provincial Park is on a small bay off Georgian Bay.

Angry coleman 249rb leaks b4 warranty is up

just went to dewinterize and discovered the seam above the bedroom has buckled allowing tons of water into the walls and platform bed lucky the mattress was still wrapped in plastic, but not lucky that the whole inner wall is shot! Camping world says I can probably get my Geico policy to cover most of it?
But it is sposed to have a two 2 year warranty?
its up in 10 days ! cover it! I also purchased a Good Sams extended-warranty?
NO good....?
This isn't the first time either, last time it was over the Bathroom, but that was 2 months after purchase . Its a 2013 Coleman by Dutchman/ thor put into service May 1 2013.... ANY advice or Ideas will be Appreciated, as the dutchman email address and Marcus Limonis address I have no longer work!

Last year, the middle skylight in my 281BH leaked. A few dozen drops on the floor, just after the 1 year warranty expired. The dealer said it should never have happened that soon, fixed it for free.

This winter, I was in the trailer tidying and noticed the skylight above the bathroom leaking badly. Turns out the caulking was starting to lift a little - but the actual problem was because at least several screws that attach the exterior part of the skylight were over-tightened and smashed right through the plastic - and then covered up with caulk at the factory. Dealer won't cover - out of warranty. Enough water came in to stain the tub, and leak out of the plastic rivets that hold the shower enclosure.

As a temporary fix, I silicone'd all over the caulk and the plastic skylight to stop the water ingress, and opened the inside of the skylight to let air dry it out. I'll fix properly once the warmer weather arrives.

Bottom line - the factory installer blew right through the skylight and then covered it up with caulk. I'll make sure I video the whole thing when I fix it and post it online for everyone to see the quality workmanship from the factory.

I believe my first leak was of a similar nature to yours over the bath skylight or a/c unit Which they fixed w/o problem. This one is the seam running from right to left atthe front over the bedroom. water is inside between wall and the vinyl covering in the rear of cabinets. I will watch for your documentary!

I am experimenting with coffee cans to keep my awning dry. It is going to rain here the next 4 days. I will post how it worked when it stops.

Now that's an interesting concept regarding the coffee cans. Definitely let everyone know how it works out. After owning our camper for a little more than a month I'm definitely keeping my eye out for these kinds of tips.

Looks like it will work, I am using a product called (Awning Pro-tec) Have had it for about 2 years, works great keeps awning Dry & Clean, also keeps the SUN from damaging the the exposed area. When I bought it, it was about 50.00 more expensive now.

D_eggman2 have you mounted a television in your Coleman yet? I'm starting to research mounts and bolt options. Just curious if you have and if so any recommendations?

Here is a link to where I installed my TV bracket. My only recommendation is to make sure you have something back there, they didn't put much where I mounted mine. I expected a 12"x12", I don't think it was even 6" in any direction. One great suggestion I have seen is to mount a piece of plywood on the wall over the studs so you KNOW that you have something to anchor to.

And just for the record the coffee cans on the awning did not work. They kept it from water pouring out but it was still wet.

I know exactly where you mounted that d_eggman2 and that is brilliant! My wife won't allow it but I like the idea. I am thinking about mounting our 32" below the cabinets by the table in a very similar fashion. Just curious if they will be solid enough to support a 32" television. Any thoughts there? I figure that way I am by the antenna port and the existing DVD player. I haven't used the Furion yet but I am not expecting much so I brought our black Friday bluray LG player out to supplement.

Hey Chaz do you have a TV anywhere? Reason why is we have one mounted right beside the antenna amp and cable outlet also.

We just have it sitting on the table for right now. The area in the 192rd where its labeled "mount TV here" seems like an odd angle to view from the couch. If you mounted yours there what mount did you use? I like the Cheetah mounts but want one with 4 mounting bolt points instead of 2. I'm also torn on which bolts I want to use.

It's not too bad since the mount swings out.
I will see if I can take a couple pictures this afternoon.

Sounds good. I appreciate that. I'm sure I can accomplish this task but the first holes drilled into a new camper are always the hardest.
