elite or equalizer wdh on coleman 3035

im planning a trip, and this will be first with mty coleman 3035, i have a elite 1200 wdh, but havent towed with it, as it was from a smaller camper i had. so my question is this,
would i be better off with a equalizer 1200 tw, to control possible sway issues than the single friction sway on the elite wdh?

both of these would have a 2 1/2" shank.

tow rig is a '19 F350 ccsb 6,7

planning on going from fl to sd,

thanks for comments to a novice.

I assume the second WDH you mention has sway control built in?

In my experience towing a bumper tow the main issue is the weight distribution portion and very little about sway control. Getting the trailer level is key. You are questioning if the single contact point will be adequate and my gut is you will be fine.

Your one ton two vehicle is more than adequate for your trailer too so that is great.

I would say if aster your cross country tow you notice any sway then maybe then consider the other set up but you should certainly be safe with the current.

I towed a 30’ bumper tow toy hauler with the same set up you have and never had any issues. Just make sure you properly tighten the sway control after hooking up and don’t forget in order to back up and maneuver you might have to remove it because it can limit turning in reverse.

Have you done trailer weight on a commercial scale. Moving companies are a good place to get this done. Need to know total weight and hitch weight to help with type and set up.

well i have a line on a pro pride hitch, and this outing is 3900 miles, so im thinking of going that route.
yes i know i may not need to get the pro pride and a single friction bar sway control may be fine,

im also looking at the ford trailer tpms system, and using that with my nav tv cod 50 system.

thanks for replies.

ok, went with hensley arrow

ok, i came across a lightly vused hensley arrow,
so after scouring numerous forums, to determine amount of drop,
i saw a old post by sean about 2 dog years ago.

basicially measure to top of reciever on truck
(22 1/4") unloaded, ((18" loaded just tounge weight).)) additional info not in post
then measure to top of coupler (24 1/4")
then subtract 5 1/2 " from that to get to top of opening on hensley 18 3/4"

now tyere was something about estimating a little sag the number given was a inch, and subtracting that off top of reciever..

so, with the straight bar i have it looks like i will be about 3/4" high,

now for the questions..
since the weight bars were not attached, will this affect it?
and since my drop is 4 1/4" from loaded to unloaded would a 2" drop be better, that would be about 1 1/4 " low without effect of wd bars

well a call to hensley, and either ill be fine or a little high and need a 2" drop,
the wd bars should pick it up some from dead tounge weight.
mount it and see..
