Where are you camping in 2021?

Now that California COVID restrictions lifted, we were able to book Agua Caliente in Anza Borrego 3/30-4/3...it is one of our favorites, can’t wait.

Will also be the first time towing over the mountains with my new RAM 3500

Looking at your signature I think the Ram will be a tad more stout than your Yukon! You will love the exhaust brake. I have a 2017 Ram 2500 and it is awesome. Love that Cummins turbo diesel.

Enjoy your trip.

Anywhere I can get a reservation.

Going to stay north of the boarder and work my way into BC if they don’t lock down further.

We haven't let this Covid scare slow down our camping. We did a lot of local camping last year and traveled and camped all over the US. We did a trip to Utah and Colorado in July/August for RZR riding. We did 5,500 miles to South Dakota and the Michigan UP in October. We also did a car-only trip to Branson MO to celebrate the 4th of July (covid restrictions didn't exist in that city).

We've had some wonderful experiences and met some wonderful people. Rarely were we reminded of masks and unsocial distancing as most all campers we met weren't believers. We really missed our trips to Chula Vista RV Resort near San Diego, which is our favorite destination, but didn't want to put up with the Gov's self-serving lockdown and other restrictions.

We're heading out next week on a local RZR riding/camping trip.

We were at Chula Vista RV over Halloween without problems. We heard they ate tearing it down tho.

Chula Vista, I believe, is closing the end of March and Costa Vista is opening over at E street. I'm going to miss Chula Vista with all the area has to offer. Been going there for many years.

You are right, they had a brochure for it. The artists drawings show something very different, for costa Vista, I can’t even get my head around how much different it seemed from tradition camping.

Too many cabins for non-rvers who don't know the etiquette.

Lot's of local trips. Long trip first week June Red Lodge NF, then to Grand Canyon of the Gunnison CO, then to Canyonlands, Arches and back home... Actually got reservations for Red Lodge AND...drum roll please...Utah State Parks Dead Horse Canyon... I think I must have stumbled into a cancellation that just happened to be on the days I wanted them... Unbelievable... Then a couple of secret places here locally (Helena MT) Park Lake (Nat Forest), Gibson Reservoir (Nat Forest) and have a friend up in Glacier area with a Cabin let's me park electric, water... And one more not telling anyone about... by West Yellowstone...

So far we camped in Quartzite for a few days in January until the RZR broke a clutch. Then in February we camped at Alamo Lake St Park for a week of RZR riding. Upon leaving Alamo we spent two nights in Parker, AZ in the parking lot of the Blue Water Casino for RZR riding to the Nellie E Desert Bar Saloon (a must do). We're planning a couple of weeks for Utah and Colorado in September.

Johnson Valley in the Mojave desert for King of the Hammers (the ultimate off road endurance race) a few weeks ago and Gorman. Both trips with Polaris RZR 4 seat Turbo Dynamix.

And nothing broke on the trailer either time!

Missouri
Pacific Ocean bound!

This spring we will take advantage of the great state parks in Missouri for some tune-up trips.

In mid-June we head for Utah to see grandkids and then on to the Pacific coast in Oregon. We will stay at South Beach State Park just south of Newport, Oregon for four nights. We plan to come home through the Cascades and spend some time around Bend. I love scrambling over the lava flows and seeing all of the beautiful waterfalls and lakes.

By the way, last summer we also went to South Beach State Park and loved it. Each morning and evening we walked to the beach. We found that all the way from Missouri to Oregon campgrounds, gas stations, and rest areas were open and happy to serve us. We were happy to spend our money at family campgrounds along the way to help them out. The hosts were fantastic and happy to see us. Don't believe the hype about everything being shut down because of the Rona. It was one of the greatest trips of our lives and we've been doing this for 25 years. Get out and see this great country of ours and spend some money at as many small businesses as you can!

[QUOTE=jbacke20119;77013]This spring we will take advantage of the great state parks in Missouri for some tune-up trips."

Missouri... We lived in Kansas Topeka/KS area. Missouri really does have nice parks. I don't know how they did it, but they have like that slice of sales tax that goes directly to the parks and it shows... So, what's with the roads???

We used to go up at one called Weston Bend in particular on the western border. Very very nice... https://mostateparks.com/park/weston-bend-state-park short video

This whole area of Missouri and across the river in Kansas is gorgeous and sort of a hidden gem. Not far from Kansas City, but far enough, Little towns, unbelievable Fall colors.... It's almost a destination area imho... I come originally from Indiana and that little area is almost a microcosm of Southern Indiana including the tobacco farms...

Disappointed

Just Vaccinated! Yea! Head out from Wisconsin to Texas Big Bend National Park.

Pull up Big Bend website. Found a big alert on the first page saying “all campsites are reserved from Feb 21 though Apr 21". Disappointed, everyone else must have got their shots earlier. I guess we will stay in Wisconsin.

So we are at Wyalusing State Park in Wisconsin, high up on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River. Ice is thawing. Snow is melting. 6 sites are occupied. 4 of them are tents. One tent has an electric heater. Temperature today is forecast to be 51 degrees.

I wish you all good luck and happy trails ahead!
