Anyone replace airbed with memory foam?

Wife & I have a Denali 262rlx. It has a couch that converts to a bed, then an inflatable airbed, which stores behind the couch when deflated.

Problem is, we've used this airbed maybe twice, and I've already had to patch it 2-3 times. Airbeds in general these days seem to be junk, and rather than spend a lot of money on a replacement (because its a "custom size") I was thinking instead of finding a way to build my own memory foam mattress, that is comprised of 2 or 3 pieces that either zip, or velcro together so I can break it down into smaller pieces and store it under out queen bed in the bedroom when not in use. Seems to me to be the best solution to ensure never having to deal with holes/deflated beds in the middle of the night.

Anyone else do something like this? Any recommendations on where to find the materials or a shop to do it reasonably priced?

I can't remember which camper it was, but it had the flip out bed frame and there was a one peice foam mattress stored in the sofa cavity. It may have even been our present camper, I pulled the bed frame out of the the sofa and built a platform for the cushions. I needed somewhere to store 2-40# bags of dog food.

When I was a kid I was going nowhere fast, now I'm an old man I'm going everywhere slow.

One of the first things we did was add a gel memory pad. Best bed in the house!

Think we added a Sealy 10" mattress with a 2" topper.
