I purchased a 2016 aerolite 319bhss 1.5 yrs ago.. this year I noticed when walking in the trailer the floor in front of the entry door is very spongy. My first thought was water damage... I went underneath the trailer and cut open the coroplast and right were it is spongy is where my fresh water holding tank is.Where the tank sits on its edges on the frame rail is fine but in the center of the tank the 2 angle supports they used from factory are bent down in the center aprox 2" causing my spongy floor I suspect.the angle iron is only like 1/8" thick. Is this normal?Ive never had any water in that tank and is empty as I am seasonal at campground and hooked up to city.Any how I have to come up with a fix ...anyone have any ideas?Thx
I wish i could say I know but I do not. It does not seem normal and especially since you have never traveled with a full fresh water tank to weigh the brackets to bend.
I think I would have a chat with the dealer. Sometimes even though things are out of warranty the company will split the cost of repair or even do the repair if the dealer is really trying to help you. Its worth a call anyway to the service manager.
Not surprised, they try to build things as light as possible. There is a chance that the dealer filled the tank all the way up to check for leaks before you bought the unit and it may have bent at that time. I had an Airstream with a similar issue, in that case I pulled the tank and put heavier supports in.
