I have two rolls of Eternabond... One white and one tan (matches). I used it to fasten my solar panel to the roof of my RV and to fasten the cable fasteners to the RV. I used their cleaner (just because). Don't use anything that will leave a residue. Don't put the tape anywhere you want to take it off. Once you press it down, it's there ETERNALLY. You can certainly use something else for a cleaner but I bought theirs because of where I was sticking this stuff to. Personally, I would use Eternabond instead of Dicor given the option.... BUT, remember, you have to roll it (put pressure on it) to activate the adhesive.

Was up on the roof of our new voltage last Thursday and found quite a few areas that needed attention, 3 alone around the vents where the screws hold them down, quality control not so good in my opinion

Hey Rusty,
I got both the cleaner and primer and used both for around an ugly caulk job around a vent and our living slide top as the window was leaking inside. I looked everywhere and figured that the top and rail seams were the culprit. Sealed them up with eternabond and rubbed in good with a wooden roller. Had a toad strangler few nights back and hooray no more leaks. In the future I will not use their cleaner as it is nothing but acetone according to the label, and expensive for such a small amount in the aerosol can. I will use the primer on the rest of the seams and vents. I bought 2 rolls, 1-4 inch and 1-2 inch. Very pleased with the finished product.

Thanks Chrs. So basically, I'm better off going with the Eternabond than simply re-caulking, right?

It definitely lasts longer if applied correctly but it is difficult to remove if you need a bigger repair.

Rusty, this stuff is the best addition bar none in the sealant department for RVing. I did the research and watched all the YouTube videos, reviews and manufacturers claims and believe this will be the new sealant on virtually all factory roof models within 3 years. So easy to apply and lasts.
Go to eternabond YouTube channel and see for yourself. I wont use caulk again if I can use this stuff. When i did my slide roof the blobs of caulk were just that blobs. It took nothing to remove and clean then tape for a perfect seal. I will try to get pictures to post today if it doesn't rain.

I did the same thing after discovering a leak last year during a hurricane in Darlington, SC. Been using this stuff for several years - I always carry a roll with me.

Glad to see someone found out what the Eternabond cleaner was...
I was going to tell you to save your money and use acetone.
I use OMG Everseal which is basically the same stuff. We use it a lot for repairs in the commercial roofing industry. Pricing looks to be very similar. With either one the key is getting the substrate clean and rolling it in with a roller for a good mechanical seal. I use a silicone roller, one of several different ones I own.
The Dicor stuff is okay, but sealants have a pretty limited exposure life, some are better than others.
