If it is sucking a little air, the flow from the faucet will probably spurt and spray in pulses as the air passes through.
If it is kinked, flow will be slow but smooth.
In both cases, the kink or hole or loose connector in the suction line can be above the floor. I would carefully examine tubing leading to the pump first.
Many threaded connectors need to be hand tight. Gaskets must be in proper position.
Some installations have a valve and a second suction line for sucking antifreeze into the system. If the valve is miss set, it will only suck air.
My Kodiak Cub had kinks in the flexible tubing near where it came out of the floor. Cutting the tube and inserting 90 degree and 45 degree fittings relieved the kinks.
