2009 Kodiak 214 - wiring diagrams?

Hello to all,

I have attempted to find the answer without reaching out, but have been unsuccessful.

We just picked up a used 2009 Kodiak 214, and I am looking to find the general system wiring diagrams (both AC and DC). Is this available somehow? I don't see anything useful in any of the owners' manuals.

Ultimately, I'm trying to determine where / what the DC charging system is, but in general, would just like to have the system wiring diagrams for all future troubleshooting

Thanks in advance to anyone who has the knowledge!

Dave

Hello Dave. the wiring diagram is pretty straight forward and follows just about any RV wiring diagram. The systems are separated into two, one 12V fed through the inverter and one 120 V fed directly from the fuse/breaker panel. The batteries are charged through the inverter as well as the 12V system of the RV, which usually includes the lights, fridge, furnace motor, etc.

The owner's manuals are worthless...

Thanks franktafl!

Any idea where the inverter is physically located?

Not that it's important at the moment, but was hoping for something that would identify circuit numbers / wire colours, grounding points, etc. Like with any automotive service manual.

Also - anything outlining the propane plumbing... curious if there are any sub-regulators. The BBQ has a very low flow, but haven't yet tested for pressure at the Quick Connect port (or run the BBQ directly off a tank). The interior range pressure is great, lots of flame range.

The 110 circuits should be labeled in the load center as well as the 12 volt circuits. As far as a wiring diagram, lots of luck. There are general diagrams out there but the factory will be NO HELP!

There is only one regulator per tank in an RV. Your grill probably has its own regulator. The inverter is usually near the load center.

Your inverter is the load center/fuse box, and all 110 circuits should be labeled, 12 volt maybe maybe not. As for the propane, there is one regulator on the top of the tanks, if you are trying to connect a regular propane BBQ it won't work unless it came with the trailer. BBQ's you buy have their own regulator built in are made to hook directly to a propane bottle without a regulator, and the quick disconnect is piped to the regulated supply.

Wondering if this was ever solved. I have a 2012 Kodiak with a small grill that came with the camper and hoses that allow it either to connect to a propane bottle or the quick disconnect at the back of the trailer. The flame is low on the grill even when the “flame control knob is set to high.

You can't use just any grill and attach it to your trailer. Almost all propane grills have their own regulator, so when you hook it to the quick disconnect it is double regulated, one regulator at the tank and on at the grill. You need a specific grill made to hook to your trailer that doesn't have it's own regulator built in, probably only available from an RV dealer.

They sell special hoses without regulators.
