MODERATOR MIA or what?

What happened to the one moderator we used to have in the group? Did he die, get bored or just like the administration of this group, just doesn't give a damn.

Someone with the power to remove members needs to exercise their powers and toss the trolls that have been showing up here lately.

Mods are volunteers and reporting problem posts is a huge help...

Todays' earlier reported trouble has been addressed and you might still hear the screen door banging closed

It would be a bigger help if the trolls didn't happen. Maybe a little scrutiny when the first post in a thread is made will give a clue as to the validity of the troll.

I don’t think that would be -ossicle since the amount of posts on a daily basis would be loads of work. Good thought though. Thanks Janet for removing them.

It could be possible with more than one missing moderator.

This is a member driven community. You can help by reporting problems. Trolls, spam and other flotsam are an ongoing concern for all forums and we need as much help in this regard as possible

Suggestion:

If you really want more help, why not allow one of us… who are here participating in this forum nearly every single day… to be one of your moderators? This would allow continuous monitoring, and also free you & your other staff for other concerns.

Personally, I nominate Sundancer 87 for the position. He’s one of the most knowledgeable here, is always willing to help, has been active for a long - LONG time… and unlike me, seems to have infinite patience & willingness to help those who, for some unknown reason, were willing to spend thousands of dollars on a product before doing any research at all on the product or lifestyle beforehand.

I've been reporting these trolls for the last two weeks. It took you that long to even approach the situation today.
We did have one moderator but he has been MIA for a long time, hence the question, what happened to him.

Oh please, I'm not anywhere near all that.

Tom, loved the quote about people spending thousands of dollars before doing any research!
Rusty
PS. You're no slouch when it comes to helping and answering either!

That's right Rusty. Ole Tom has all the links to the goods.

All those in favor of Tom????

Sheesh… anybody can bookmark web links. All it takes is access to Google, and a willingness to do a little bit of… um… what’s that word… oh yeah, RESEARCH. That part’s easy. But you guys are the ones with real knowledge. I have a bit if mechanical ability… but I don’t know jack about most electrical & plumbing issues, and that’s where you guys shine.

Plus, I’m a bit too much of a curmudgeon to be a moderator. I’ve already been reprimanded once or twice for some of my snarky, and… shall we say, less than ‘tactful’ replies to some posts. When someone’s made the effort to try to find the info they need, but either didn’t know quite where to find it, or were otherwise unsuccessful… I’ll bend over backwards to try & help when I can. But when it’s obvious they’ve made no attempt at all, and just want someone else to do all the legwork, to be presented on a platter to them… yeah, I got no patience for that at all.
