We normally don't purchase extended warranties, but glad we did this time.

Encouraging. Thanks for the play by play. Good news is too rare along this subject.

It is called XtraRide through Protective Asset Protection (800) 323-5771
this was purchased at time of RV purchase. The dealer strongly urged we get the warranty because of the slides. We had originally declined it, but boss lady made the final decision.
Unit was dropped off in June to obtain authorization. Gave the repair shop the paperwork, they called me a few days later saying they found the leaking jacks and the slide was in fact busted. Protective authorized the repair and at $4k. Since we were traveling to family and using our second TH, we left the unit with them. I stopped by to pick up some uniform items and noticed the pin plate sitting cockeyed, I inquired with the repair folks, who called Protective...they sent someone out to inspect, signed off on the repair, then had to wait on parts. Lippert took about 5 weeks to ship slide parts, a week for the jacks, and 2 days for the pin box.
Overall I am happy, I never buy warranties, because I usually see them as a gamble and a waste. Looking through the paperwork, we paid $3295. Sure seemed steep at the time, but this one hit makes it well worth it.

I bought the warranty on mine. dealer put my tow vehicle on it, added some other crap and gave it to me for half the price he originally quoted me. My last toyhauler was great within the first year. But when bigger stuff broke (and it will ) like the furnace, water tank, and converter (twice) I was wishing I had a warranty. seeing all the doo hickys and luxury items in this coach, im glad I got it

The slide mechanism was screwed up worse than I had thought...I saw one shoe loose in the rail, but that rail also had a cracked bearing block. When they disassembled the slide, they found two other broken shoes.
The tech that fixed mine is their go to tech for Schwintek. He said that I shouldn't have a problem with this slide for another 10 years or so. They did clean and retime the bedroom slide for free and did a health check on the kitchen slide.
Funny thing, he said that Schwintek was better designed for the size/weight of the kitchen slide vs the main slide.
He also confirmed the way to operate the slides...it was like having a PDI. Hold button once movement completed for 10-15 seconds. He said to not stop mid stroke of the slide, the motors won't stop at the same time, must go full stroke.

Extended Warranty
Let me start by saying I do not believe in extended warranties having worked for one of those companies many, many years ago. HOWEVER, I bought the Good Sam Warranty last year after purchasing a used 2013 3950 Voltage. I paid $325 for the year and it had a $500 deductible. The warranty has paid $1,500 of a $2000 repair on the bedroom slide at the repair shop of my choice. Yes, I had to wrestle with them a bit on parts freight and other nonsense but I think it was worth it AND my renewal this year was only $295.

Tom,
What's the fine print? I have never known an insurance company to lower rates, especially after a claim was made in the previous year.

I got the same coverage's. Just a renewal of what I had last year. Not sure why the cost went down and I'm not going to ask.
