I gave up on those plastic drawer latches, and replaced them with baby lock latches, available at Home Depot. (Safety First Model HS132) When you are parked & settled, just use the magnet to open the latch, then flip the switch and you can use the drawers. Then when you are ready for the road, just flip the switch and close the drawer. They never come open when we are travelling. We store the magnet on the side of the range hood. We bought two sets (8 locks) so we have 2 magnets. Part of our departure checklist is to check each drawer to be sure that they are set for travelling.
There is another brand available, but they don't have slots in the feet where they screw to the drawer frame - just holes - so they are not adjustable. You may have to cut a notch in the back of the drawer to clear the latch when you install these.
We also use the DreamBaby cabinet sliding lock (Wal-Mart) on the cabinet doors to keep the doors closed when travelling.
