I know that this is a fault of the direct signal igniter as associate with the water heater. I however have a unique phenomenon occurring. Regardless of whether I turn on the “gas” or “electric “ switch, the unit will heat the water and then the light comes on. I left the camper for a day, and turned off both switches and shut off the gas altogether. This evening when I returned, I activated the electric switch. The water heater functioned and heater the water, then the light came on. Same thing happens if I start it on gas. CRAZY!!

Problem is that I have to turn off and once water cools off, I can restart with either and then it simply repeats. Any thoughts???

I did have the t-stat replaced last year, but not sure why it would cause this anomaly. Any assistance is appreciated.

I may be stupid here or misreading your problem, but why look a gift horse in the mouth. Perhaps the light means the water is now hot and ready for use. If it works, I usually don't try to fix it?
