What a difference!
During our travels on the highways of midwest US we encountered some really rough roads (I'm looking at you Wisconsin). It got so bad that I dreaded going over the rough patches leading up to and from the overpasses where my truck tended to want to do a little dance over the bumps. I decided that after 50k miles that it was time to replace the shock absorbers on my truck. On the advice of many on other RV forums I installed a set of Bilsten shocks. Well, I just finished a 300+ mile drive with the rig and what a difference. I now feel fully in control over the worst bumps with no more porpoising over the expansion joints. It's funny how worn out shocks sort of sneak up on you. Thought I'd mention it here for your consideration.

Wisconsin Roads
No point in complaining about Wisconsin roads here. Governor Walker and his cronies don't read this forum.

Louisiana endurance course
Hanent been to Wisconsin in many years, but during our present trip to Louisiana we encountered some of the worse roads in my driving history. I've been driving through almost every US state for 50 years. Pulling our trailer was horrifying and I thought we would launch after all the inferior bridge transitions and endless wash board highways.

Actually, we were in Illinois but most of the roads we traveled on were pretty good in my opinion (except when driving in downtown Chicago thanks to road work).
Even the farm roads were nice and smooth. Don't know where the money for fixing the roads came from in a state without a budget.

Too true. Especially in Phoenix where they consider red lights to be merely a suggestion to stop.

Apparently you have NOT driven in Florida... Orlando and Miami area are the most fun.

We found St. Louis to be a bear,, of course it didnt help with the wife screaming " you are going to hit the wall, you are going to hit the wall".. Lost a steel belt in PA I think too, made it to CT in one piece, came back to AZ across the top of America, but added a day.. Might look into new shocks, or at the least over loads, Getting knees replaced starting in Nov.. so dont know how much crawling around I can do. Next trip isnt till May of 2019 though..

All the best for your surgery. Let us know how you come out. You should have lots of time to set and ponder the merits of this website...
