Is it enough?
My wife and I are going to be purchasing a Voltage 3970. Our current tow vehicle is a 2010 Ford Ranger with the small V-6 with a standard tyranny. Do you think that will be OK?........... Ok thought everyone could use a laugh. We are currently looking at the F350 dually diesel with the max tow package. We can put the Ranger in the 5er garage..... not really. My Harley will go there.

There is no way a standard trans will work! I don’t mind someone poking fun at me. We will be getting a bigger vehicle this spring, the wife is due for an update.

No, I really have a ranger I am trading in for the F-350. I have a small motorcycle trailer I pull behind it sometimes. With 2 Harley baggers on the trailer going up mild hills I max out around 40MPH in 3nd gear. I think I would have to chip it to pull the 3970.

I have an Aspen Trail 2810 BHS that rolls behind a '95 4 Door 4X4 Powerstroke longbed. I've added aftermarket injectors, intake, High Pressure Oil Pump and a chip to the 7.3 and a triple lock TC to the transmission during rebuild 50K ago. The outfit runs strong but I treat her right with 260K miles on everything. This spring gets us a double axle rebuild during re gearing to 4:88's. I need 4:88's because of the 8 inches of lift and the 37 inch Cooper STT's. To top off the gravy train I load a 2014 Can Am Commander in the back of the truck and usually haul a couple kayaks on the roof rack. We have alot of fun when we go!!

Gads, I keep chips in the Voltage for a snack at the end of the day.
I have a 2011 Silverado 6.6 duramax, Allison, LTZ crew cab long bed. With a Highway Products aluminum bed with six tool boxes about full.
I have a 2014 Voltage Epic 3800. You can set the cruise at 70...and it will go up any highway we've been on...here in the West...and never lost more than 1 or 2 MPH.
Its been funny when we're on a 2 lane road, cruise on. And some little car pulls out to pass "that great big slow thing"...only to find out their little car ain't got enough balls to pass us. So we just keep motoring along....

Not a lot of people out there using Tundras to tow. Wondering if there is a reason why? My 2008 Tundra Limited tows 10,600 and that is plenty for my TT.

Before I made the last post I had only read abotu half way through. Now I read it all the way through and NOBODY tows with a Toyota Tundra but me. I am really wondering why. I'm actually a bit concerned with what I am missing. I'm leaving on the 4th for a trip to Ohio from California and hoping I will not have problems. Towed it for 3 hours to get it with zero problems.
My truck has the 5.7L in it. It is rated for 1,500 Bed weight and 10,500 GVW. My TT is 8,000 lbs and is 34' long. Hitch weight is 825 lbs. I have a tow package with extra coolers in the Tundra. I figure after loading the trailer up, I will be about 9,000 lbs, and 930 hitch weight. I know the trailer is heavier then the truck, and that makes me nervous.
Without towing, I get 21mpg on the freeway at 70mph. Towing at 60mph, I get 14mpg. My Tundra is paid for and only has 40k miles on it. It's fully loaded and in great shape. I really don't want a new truck, but I don't want to have problems either.
So why does nobody use Toyota's?
