Securing a slide out topper

Is the thin gauge aluminum wall of a slide out the proper backing material for a 13’ 6” slide topper?

I am installing a 13’ 6” slideout topper by myself.

The awning is secured by two plates with self tapping #10 screws, five per plate.

I am installing as in this photo showing one of my two five screw plates circled in ref.

I placed this plate the same as most other photos I see. This weighs perhaps 30 LBS and perhaps that’s the industry standard that 10 screws will hold that in.
