Did you allow the lines an opportunity to get purged with propane before trying furnace? For example, after opening propane tank valve did you confirm gas flow by igniting a stove burner? This is usually necessary with my TT so my habit is to try and open the propane valve slowly and then confirm that a stove burner will light. I don't know exactly why this happens, but it is common.
Regarding the AC fan coming on with furnace, some digital thermostats will do this if the Fan setting is on Auto. It is to aid in air circulation and also some AC units double as a heating unit (heat pump add on).
