Yep, this happens to a lot of folks. I think it has something to do with how these remotes are wired into the system, but if you use the remote, then the remote "owns" the circuit. There is something you can do that puts it back to default, but I can't recall it this second. I think you have to open your front outdoor cargo hatch on the porch side, and reach up and click something on the remote control receiver board. On my 213, that is where it is located. You will see the remote system antenna wire protruding from that board.
Someone with better recall will be along shortly and correct me, I'm sure.
