Brake lights and blinkers don't work when truck lights are on

We have a 2012 Voltage 3200. The brake lights and back blinkers work when the truck lights are off but don't when we turn the truck lights on. All other exterior lights seem okay. We believe the previous owner messed with the wires in the junction box (7 way). There is a yellow wire not attached to anything. Does anyone have a picture of a junction box with the wires connected or a schematic?

Not sure if I am understanding what the lights are doing. From what you are saying, sounds impossible. Any way here is a color coded diagram for a seven pin trailer connector .
Also keep in mind your tow vehicle may have seperate fuse for trailer lights and vehicle lights.

Sorry, computer wont insert link, but you could just google for similar results

It is really weird that the brake lights and blinkers only work with the truck lights off. That means we can’t drive at night and have the truck lights on because the trailer brake lights and blinkers on the back of the trailer won’t show up.
We have a yellow wire just hanging by itself. The link you recommended showed yellow to yellow. My husband thinks that might be the problem. He has a trouble light tester (or something like that) he is going to try.

always heard twist home wiring nuts bad bad bad to have in vehicles,, vibration etc,, worse comes to worse, going to have to get a test light and see what is up,, sounds like with truck switch off, there is ground there, with the switch on, something else is happening, maybe 12 volts and 12 volts and that way the lights wont come on,

Check all bulbs first. If old style you can have one of the double filaments burned out and it will seek ground causing your problem.
