Voltage Tail Light Mod
My buddy was following me towing my 2013 3895 Voltage and said the factory tail lights are mounted too low to see when following close on city streets. So I puchased and installed 13" LED strip lights on the back next to the ramp door about half way up. I wired them to the factory lights and now you can see them just fine !

how did you fish the wire down to the channel where the tail lights reside.

I ran the wires down the edge molding under the insert and then drilled through the channel frame to the back of the factory tail lights. You don't see any wires from the outside. It looks totally factory.

There is not much to show all wires are hidden under the edge molding. Here is a close up.

Great mod, I have been pondering this idea also. Where did you find the lights?

Bought them on ebay. Search LED truck tail lights or big rig trailer lights.

Like this modification, the wires do not interfere with screen door? Have a fence behind my camper so can not open garage door until I am hooked up and pull up, so will be a while until I can look at the channel where the wires can come down. Love the full body paint!

The best place to get the LED is from Custom Dynamics. Look on their web page under "trailer lights". Link is here: Trailer LED Lights LED Trailer Lighting Trailer Light Kits
I also installed the same lights on my 3895 and added the 60" LED bar between the factor OEM lights. To get the wires up to the side lights remove the existing factory lights and use a 90 degree drill to drill through the vertical tubing that is welded to the bottom tubing. A 3/8" hold will do. Just use silicone on the wires to keep them from chaffing in the new hole you drilled.

That's a great mod. Something I will have to incorporate into my trailer once I get back into mod gear. Good stuff.

They are brake/running/turn lites. Mine were 4 wire. Wiring Instructions: White = Ground, Black = Tail/Running Lights, Yellow = Left Brake/Turn, Green = Right Brake/Turn.
I believe they sell a module to make the 3 wire work. (brake and turn signal).

I always order the wrong thing on Ebay, did you have to drill a hole directly behind light? The 3 wires coming out in back center with a plastic 1/2" round protrusion..

FIL did this to his new toyhauler motorhome, after a near rear end collision on our last outing decided this is a must for ours. The factory lights are so low, the guy in the semi behind us, following to close by the way, nearly took us out. As in OUT out. Had to clean my drawers at the next stop after that.

Actually, I don't find the factory lights to be all that low. Mine are as high or higher than any automobile out there. We travel at night frequently, and have never had any close calls. I'm not sure about this. Lights seem to be highly visible from the rear.
