No Hot Water

First camping trip in our 2012 kodiak (purchased in 2012 and winterized by the dealer). Hot water tank filled up but water from hot water tap remains cold with both electric and propane options. Propane does not appear to engage.

We replaced the fuse but still no hot water.

Does the tank get hot to the touch? Could your bypass may be set to winter mode still?

There's a small rocker switch behind the exterior access panel. Left side lower I think. See if it needs to be turned on.

Tank filled with water once we turned off the bypass but it doesn't get the slightest bit warm/hot. We are thinking that we likely burned up the element as being new to this we had the water heater switch on before we realized the bypass was off. But, wouldn't the water heater still run on gas even if the element was burned out? With the gas water heater switch on we still get nothing!

You can hear the propane burner when it is running. Go outside and listen when you turn the tank to propane. And yes, the propane side should still function even if you burned out the element.

Sometimes it may take a minute for the gas to get to the tank when you first turn it on if the propane tank was turned off. Just brainstorming here but you did turn the propane tank on? Does your furnace and stove work fine?

Yes the gas side should still run even if the electric side has been burned out.

Does anything else gas run (Furnace, stove, fridge)? In the spring I have to light our outdoor kitchen stove first to let the gas run through the whole LP system before any of the automatic appliances (Water heater, furnace and fridge) will light on their own.

I think the water heater will give up trying if flame is not reached after a few attempts.
