Motorcycle Decision Made

Well after much debate, mostly with myself. I have decided to give up riding motorcycles after over 16 years of riding. So I am going to sell my blue 2012 Yamaha Tenere. Gonna miss riding but just not able to do it anymore due to shoulder and elbow pain when riding.

I know the pain, Barry. I sold my Moto Guzzi a few years back because the two of us aren't skinny any more, and can't fit well on the dual seat. I felt selfish taking it out alone. But look at it this way, you outlived the motorcycle, not vice versa! I did get a burning-yearning once, and with a few friends rented a Harley. Took it from Charleston to Myrtle Beach and back. Fun, and yearning satisfied for just a couple of hundred bucks!

I totally respect your decision Barry. It's a personal matter and at some point I may face it too, IF I live that long.

But hopefully someone will SHOOT ME before I can no longer ride.

Honestly, I am old enough to be in some kind of frequent pain. I spread a pallet of St. Augustine sod today and everything aches. I went into the office tonight and had a tough time climbing the stairs.

That 2012 Blue Super Tenere was a PDP (PreDepositPurchase) bike that someone waited a long long time for it to make it to our shores. It's quite a machine. I know because mine is a 2012 Blue Super Tenere PDP bike. lol

(Isn't blue anymore. I painted it to match my helmet)

Anyways, I'm a little broken hearted FOR you my Tenere brother.

Yep, same here but for different reasons. Started riding in the early 70s. Sold the 2005 Royal Star Tour Deluxe in 2011 after the wife became disabled to where she couldn’t ride with me anymore. I figured I had a good long run without any incidents so time to change direction. We bought a golf cart, toy hauler, and a kayak. Oddly enough, she is very comfortable in the kayak, so it works for us. I missed the bike for a while but do not regret the decision today. It was the right thing for me to do too. Things change...

Falling off a ladder 35+ years ago ended my motorcycle riding. Then 6/7 years ago I found a Burgman. Bought a 400 rode it for 46k+ miles & now have a 650.
I'm over retirement age & bad left foot & wrist I can still ride a SCOOTER. Well it's a scooter on steroids.

I got rid of the last of my motorcycles years ago. Got hit a few times to many, figured one of these days there was going to be one that I wasn't going to walk away from. I still have a couple of scooters to play with, but don't ride them on the roads much. I have a Honda CH-125 that is under going a complete rebuild, when I get done with that I will dig the old Vespa 200 Rallye out and give it the same treatment. I also have a line on a Honda CH-250.... We also have several Honda Trail 50's that we play with on the farm.

We sold our 2013 HD CVO 2 years ago because too many of our friends got hurt. Now we ride a Kawasaki Teryx4 and see the country from another perspective.

2005 Ultra I bought new. 160,000 miles. Hardly ride the last few years, in fact this is the first Daytona and Sturgis rally I haven't or won't attend in 20 years. Still can't bring myself to sell it though.

Don't have to feed 'em, don't have to keep 'em warm and only have to talk to 'em a little so why not have a remnant of the past?
