Proud New Owner... And a big Thank you!!

Well, I have been trolling the site and asking every question I could think of for the last month or so, but we finally brought home the new Voltage V-Series 3605!! I want to thank everyone for the help as I think this was the most prepared I have ever been making a RV purchase! I'll throw a couple quick pics now and take some pictures of the V-Series options that are new for 2015 and post them later. I really like the light ground effects kit!!

Yup, you were a big part of the decision DesertRat... I am already working out the logistics of replacing the infamous Westlake tires!!

Enjoy! We've been full-timing in our V3605 since July and she's (Valerie) met our needs very nicely. Not without some unexpected challenges to be sure, but hey, it's an adventure!

The title of your thread reminds me of a "Bear" quote...

Congrats on your new rig, do make sure you scrutinize every detail of the unit, I found many factory deficiencies, and my dealer has had my rig now since October 10, its still not complete but the wait for warranty authorization is what takes all the time. The biggest problem was the air conditioner ducts, 4 had come apart, easy fix for the tech, but seems to be a common issue. The other issue is getting a full tank of fresh water, that's my next battle to get sorted out. Other than those 2 issues, I'm sure you will enjoy your unit, I know pulling my 2014 V-3605 gets alot of looks from passer-by's and alot great compliments. It pulls really smooth, and tracks nice. I started pulling with a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500hd diesel, and pulled 7% grades with a small effort, I now have a 2015 Silverado 3500hd dually, and hardly know its there! Enjoy your travels, and don't forget to share your pros and cons with the rest of us.

Thanks Everyone!

Here are the pics of the ground effects light package moto (though I am not sure the pics do it justice). They are blue and match the cap lights. It's basically a strip of LEDs pointed on each of the six levelers. I am not sure the kit will be as cool if you did not have all six levelers. I will work on the rest later. We were busy loading it up today.

Good words to live by toad... was out your way (San Angelo) the first half of the year and I'm headed back in January. Did you get your RV in San Angelo, I know they have a dealer there or is there one closer?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but I had same issue with water tank not filling all the way - it was on my laundry list of warranty issues that was fixed - appears this is a fairly common problem with Voltage. There was about an extra foot of fill hose installed that dipped below the top of the tank fooling the vent into thinking it was full when it is not. They cut out the extra hose, reattached and now fills to the top and gage actually shows full now instead of 2/3.

Where did these ducts come apart? I would like to check mine out. I had to put 1x2 blocks in my return (center AC with offset returns) to open them up, they were nearly closed off, now the AC breathes.

I have been fortunate, in that I have been able to fix everything on my own, thus trailer and my last. The last was a Keystone Outback...I bought the parts, sent in receipts, and received a check a month or two later. When I bought the voltage, I emailed the lady that helped me for the year of warranty on the Outback, she said that warranties are handled by Ketstone now....I will be turning in a mass bundle if receipts next September for reimbursement.

Sorry for the hijack.

Cale

Are they puck lights or strips? Work off the cap light switch?

I really like the paint scheme on your front cap, first one I've seen in that style, and the ground effects are just "way-cool".

Enjoy the trip to West Texas in your new RV!!!

Don/Dmax - Feel free to hijack whenever you want lol... But I do think I saw an entire thread on the issue of not being to fill all the way. One thing I found out was that your water heater capacity counts.... So my 96 gallons of fresh water storage is 86 gallons in the holding tanks and 10 in the water heater.

Cale - 4-5" Strip lights within an inclosed housing so not like the regular LED strips on the awning or whatever (don't ask me how they shine in somewhat of a circular pattern lol). And they are controlled by the cap light switch.

Toad - Although I had my old RV there early this year, the new won't see the likes of Texas ever lol. My old RV and truck sustained 20k dollars in hail damage in the May storms you guys had out there.

Now I am intrigued. May be a nice mod, though, I have left the cap lights on while towing before, the ones underneath may get me in trouble.

Did your old RV have aluminum or fiberglass siding?

I've seen what a hail storm can do to aluminum siding,
and wondered how the fiberglass siding would hold up???
