Garage floor insulation in Voltage Epic 3990
Does anyone know if there is any insulation under the garage floor on a Voltage Epic 3990? If so what is the R-value? If not has anyone added insulation and if added how much of a problem was it to do so?
I have been on the website but can't seem to find any info at all about garage floor insulation.

My 2014 has zero floor insulation! Crawl under there you can see the tanks and a gap between them and the choroplast.

I spoke with 2 different dealers today and they claim that the 2018 units have some insulation under the garage floor. Not as much as the rest of the unit and they did not know what the R-Value was.

Mine has zero insulation under the floor of the garage. It doesn't even have the underbelly that covers the rest of the underneath of the camper.

Dealers=Salesman=BIG FAT LIARS!
Yes, I would go check if you are expecting it, and I would be very surprised if there was. Please keep us posted. Somewhere I read they couldn't due to fuel fumes need to release and vent or something like that. I could be wrong , I doubt it. [emoji41]

Yeah, I've never seen ANY toy hauler with insulation under the garage. Not saying there aren't any.. just that I've never seen any.

The Grand Design Momentum does but there are some potential plumbing issues with them that give me a little concern. Also, the Jayco Seismic does but the electric leveling system instead of hydraulic concerns me there.

Our 2003 Victory Lane had fibreglass insulation. Nice and thick to hold the water that got under the floor up against the plywood -> replace big section of floor totally rotten.

I was under my garage to install a motorcycle chock and there is no insulation, only two fuel tanks. Walk in there on a very cold morning and you quickly feel the lack of insulation.

There is zero insulation under my garage in my 2015 Voltage 3970 even with the arctic package. That would be tolerable if the idiot's hadn't ran my kiitchen sink water out under the garage and back in to the kitchen sink. Yep. I know it sounds unbelievable, but they ran the water line out under the garage where there is NO insulation and no heat. Not really the arctic package I paid for.

I was just wondering if you had been lucky enough to discover this under warranty and if you did, if Dutchmen or the dealer corrected it or not?

when my black water tank was being replaced the coroplast was removed to remove the ruptured tank and replace it. I looked under the belly and no insulation anywhere. The tech said very few have any insulation under the belly.
How Voltage can advertise R40 in the floor is amazing to me.

It is still covered by the extended warranty. It appears that you have not dealt with Dutchmen very much? They are the most difficult company that I have ever tried to deal with, except possibly AT&T. They are not concerned with customer service. They are only concerned with selling rigs. Warranty will not cover it, because it is per the design. No defect in workmanship. I can fix it, but I paid a lot of money for tr he arctic package that is not.

I asked the same question. Unbelievably, I got a truthful response. They don't advertise the entire floor of the entire rig as R40. Legal syntax? Yep.

No Sir, I have not dealt with Dutchmen at all. I do not own a Toy Hauler at all yet. I will be in the market in 3 years when I retire. I have started doing research and building a short list. At this point my short list, that I am sure will change several times over the next 3 years, consists of Jayco Seismic, Grand Design Momentum, and Dutchmen Voltage. I am monitoring and asking questions on all 3 of the owner's forums for those 3. I appreciate the honesty and it helps to weed out the bad actors.

Maybe they're distinguishing between flooring and subflooring. No there is no insulation of the tanks and plumbing other than the coroplast. However the floor that we walk on (but not in the garage) is a laminated foam sandwich which is pretty good insulation.
