Denali Trialer Cover
Hi,
We are looking to find a cover for our Denali. We are wanting to get one from the factory. Any ideas on where to get one of these?
Thanks,
Andy & Mare

I don't know if you can get them from the factory, but you can take your pick on line thru Amazon, CW, or RV Upgrade to name a few. Just Google RV covers. You have your pick from a light ripstock to keep the sun off, or heavier duck cloth types for rougher weather. Light ones rip on antennas and things and heavier ones are a bear to pull over the roof. Be prepared to spend $400 to $1,500. After looking at the pros and cons, I decided to just double down on exterior maintenance. Or, if you're like our "wealthier" members (no names mentioned, LOL), build a pole barn!

Welcome to the forums!
I am not a fan of RV covers (or car covers for that matter) if it is going to be left out in the weather. They seem to create more issues than they solve. If you can afford a roof over the top it would be the best way to go. In my part of the country (Deep South) covers create a tropical micro-climate that will hit over 100° and create a steamy mess. In your part of the country they might work better. Wind and covers don't seem to mix well either, the wind will move a cover around and create rub marks on the unit.
And yes Rusty the barn is getting closer and closer.

Finished mine this weekend ..... now to paint it to match garage. I made it tall enough to still get up on the roof and wash it.

I got the trusses from a welder in a near by town, found his ad on Craigslist. Bought the metal roofing from a local manufacturer. Hardest part was finding posts that tall that were straight.....
It was much cheaper to buy the piece parts than to buy a "kit".

Are there zoning issues for a structure like that? Is it considered a building?

We are lucky we store ours inside. It is a paid Storage place as we have no room at home

Joe,
That would depend on your local zoning laws. Where I live, I am zoned as agricultural (40+ acres), so I can put up a pole barn like this without a permit as long as I can prove it will be for agricultural use (storing tractors and such). But since I wanted to have it covered on my home owners insurance I did get it permitted for RV use vice agricultural. If you go the permit route, you have to provide copies of engineered drawings showing it will meet different load ratings (wind, snow etc.) and those get pricey, $375 just for my drawings.

If you have to go with a cover, Adco makes a good one, it has a Tyvek roof and vents to keep wind flapping down and moisture out. I had one for my last camper and it was fine. I will never regret getting a carport for our newer camper.

Pretty much the same thing here. We built a monster 40'x80' open sided tractor barn several years ago, it is full of tractors, trucks and "stuff". The new barn is going closer to the house and will be fully enclosed. Permits, engineered drawings, etc. Right now I am battling permitting over their requirement for a "septic system review". They claim it is necessary for all construction permits. The new barn is NOT going to have water or septic so I think it is a $500 money grab on their part. I have a lawyer looking into it.
However it will get built soon!
