242BHS Aerolite and 2015 Models AC unit

So while I had the unit home the first week, I was plugged into a 20 amp circuit and was running the AC. It seemed to turn off when it reached temperature and turn back on when needed.

This weekend while camping on a 30 AMP the unit ran all the time. The AC compressor would cycle when it needed to, but the fan ran non-stop which is annoying.

Towed home and it still is running non-stop.

What is the normal behavior of these Dometic AC units?

Check the thermostat and see what setting your fan is operating on. Set to Auto - sounds like it got switched to a continuous setting

I agree with the post above. Same thing happened to us on the first couple of trips, and then I finally went to You Tube and searched for Dometic thermostat. There is a great video out there that shows how to cycle to the auto setting. Worked for us, and we just go back from a trip to Mackinaw City, MI

Thank you. That was it. Funny how the manual doesn't really spell it out.

That was one of the items my PDI walk around covered. He said he had lots of calls about that & other things he covered with us.

Glad I could sort of help out! Like I said we had the same problem and were wondering why doesn't it turn off when it gets to temperature. Manual, we have no manuals on the operation of the ac/heating besides the general Dutchmen manual. Pretty sad in this day and age that they don't provide better documentation when you purchase a $20K travel trailer. Good luck and have fun camping!

It doesn't get any better even if you pay in the $70K neighborhood. I find myself saying more and more lately "if it says Dutchmen on the the wrapper, may as well toss it in the crapper!"

Luckily, places like LCI and other RV companies have pretty indept and helpful websites we can access. LCI Support page
