Maybe? If all else fails cut out a section of pipe and use a rubber "no hub" fitting. Mine was glued on one side and clamped on the other. Also the valves do come apart for replacement.

Forgot to tell you that a stiff bristle brush and possibly a angle pick of some sort is what to use to clean the stuff off the valve, pay special attention to the groove where it slides closed.

Don't know where it is at, however cleaning it is usually pretty straight forward once you get to it. You may need to partially disassemble it, clean the grooves where the valve slides and lube it...
