$700, I was expecting about 1/2 that cost. DW really wanted one but I'm glad I cheap skated out because with all the stuff I'm haulin' around I wouldn't have room.

Good call on getting just one. I got two and they are a PITA moving around to get to the deck, let alone finding room when loading. While they are nice when the weather is good, sitting in the deck, they take up too much room when they are inside. I would almost recommend not getting any and finding some good aftermarket folding types.

I've never used my chair once. Been hanging in my barn since the day we brought it home. No room for one when we haul the RZR so two would be out of the question. We just use folding Voltage gravity chairs instead

Is that a nice area? We need to do a lot more research in the next few years...
The oil patch? Haha! Forget that!
I was looking at a map of the last 56 years of tornado hits in Texas. South- western part of the state looks relatively clear.
Weather aside, I like a *lot* of things about Texas. We'll end up settling there for sure. Last time I was there I had a motorcycle and had to sell my guitar (pronounced 'Gee-tar' as I was told) at a truckstop on I40. The guitar was strapped to my sissy bar and kept catching those killer panhandle winds. Automatic lane change... know what I mean?

Yeah, I've got one of those Voltage recliners too. Made room for it on one trip, but has been left here at the house ever since.

I have to agree with everyone who has 2 chairs... the DW got them to "throw another one in" at the RV show here in Chicago... if she had to move these damn things around we would NEVER be taking them along!!! We did take them knowing we were on the water and wanted to have coffee on the deck, as well as it being our first trip in the new rig we wanted to see what would work and not work... the voltage stairs off the deck would be the next thing i could see leaving behind... takes up a lot of room for the reward of having them...

Pushin... if you wanna get rid of those stairs, I'm sure you could find a buyer on here. Just name a price.

I liked the area around Amarillo, Waco isn't too bad either. Sweetwater was about the closest to the middle of nowhere that I have ever been.

Yeah maybe I'm just pipe dreaming but I need to get out of NJ when I retire in 10 years or so. Not that this is a bad place really... but NJ taxes are some of the highest in the country.

My Set Up !!
There sure are some nice rigs here & nice trailers to go with them too.
I have a 2001 Ford V10, 4 dr, long bed 4X4 (Yup, it's a gasser). It has about a 3 inch lift (on it when I bought the truck). 35 inch Toyo Open Country A/T II 10 ply tires with 4.56 gears.
I've installed a stock Ford 6.0 tranny cooler (3 times larger than the one that was in the truck & it added 2 1/2 extra quarts of oil) along with a Mag-Hytec deep tranny pan (holds 7 extra quarts of oil), A Mag-Hytec rear diff cover, dual remote oil filters with an engine oil cooler, Air bags with the in-cab air controller. I've also added an in-the bed 51 gal aluminum fuel transfer tank with a Fill-Right 13 gpm pump.
I connect the 5th wheel to the truck using an Andersen Ultimate 5th Wheel hitch which attaches to a B&W Gooseneck hitch. So far, I really like this set up for what I have.
The trailer is a 2013 V3005 5th Wheel Toyhauler. I've made a few mods to the trailer as well as doing some of the mods I've seen others do on this forum, like I added four additional LED tail/turn signal lights. I've also swapped out all the interior lights bulbs to LED's & I added two LED lights in the garage above the windows so I would have light back there if we're playing games & so there would be lights for anyone using one of the bunks & wanting to read. I also got rid of the 10 ply tires & installed some GEOSTAR G574 Steel belted 14 ply tires. The trailer handles a lot better now I might add.
Anyway, so far the wife & I really enjoy the trailer. Here's a couple pics ...
This isn't my truck ...

Well...spent about $20 in quarters washing and brush scrubbing our Voltage Epic 3800 on Friday as we got home from three weeks out.
Still doesn't look very good at all...but the trip was great!!
Second fuel pump at the tank worked like a charm and generator never missed a beat. Well...once when it ran out of gas, but transferred fuel from toy tank to gen tank...that worked great and generator back on line!!
Can't remember how many times we were in a pouring rain and howling wind...no leaks at all!!!
Lubricating the Lippert slides every second or third operation. No more slides hanging up.
That's the way I like 'em...enjoyable!!!!

Morning view from Grand Teton NP (Glacier Turnout). We were there all of 10 mins when Ranger pulled up. He asked if we were staying the night, (yes), he said well I know all the rv parks are full. Shift change is at 6am, just get moving early.

Great photo KN5DX Guy !! Gotta love a friendly Ranger, but I sure wish they knew how difficult it is to find a decent place to park these big long trailers.
Here's hoping your short stay was enjoyable !!

New 3970
Does anybody have input on the 3970 model voltage? I was wondering if it is roomy in the living and kitchen area. I have a 2011 3905 voltage now.
Thanks for the input!

Only in West Texas!!!
The RV Park we're stayin' in has a really big swimmin' hole. The vacuum trucks come by several times a day to keep it full and they even have a flare gas tiki torch so you can swim at night.
