The first thing to do would be to find the model number of the converter and then check the specs on it.
It's seven years old, probably the OEM converter that is a basic machine so it's maybe on...

AGM batteries will charge faster than flooded...

AGM batteries will charge faster than flooded batteries but that shouldn't be a problem for the control circuits of the converter.
If you have been topping off the so called deep cycle batteries...
