Mine is kind of the same way. I wonder is this just a problem that shows up with us that live in the heat. I'm going to see if the Loctite will hold mine in place. I did order some of the metal end...

It isn't the rolled stuff it would come in 10" straight lengths I think.
It snaps over the metal rail top & bottom.

Mine is doing the same thing. Difference is mine is not round but more flat. I've never had molding on any RV like this. Haven't found it online yet. Nothing on eBay looks like it.
