Looks like we both traded up to a 450 from a 250 . What kind of speeds are you running to yield the mileage you are?
Here is my new tow rig BTW..I think we are damn near twins ATC! lol

My turn
Here is my rig... Not the big boys like a lot of you guys.
My Titan is getting anywhere from 6.5 to 9 MPH depending on my speed, road conditions and winds.
The Titan is handling the this load very well. I think having the long wheel base helps.
Trailer weight is 7350LBS empty and it was about 8000LBS Loaded. My GVWRCL is right at 14500LBS. All of my weights are within limits for the Titan.

I'll be towing with a '15 GMC Dmax 2500HD. Installing Firestone air bags and the B&W turnball / companion set up this coming Wednesday. No 5th wheel yet, but we're prepping for it.

2014 Razorback 2950 36ft, with a 2013 F150 supercrew ecoboost with 3.73's. Pulls like a train! With proper hitch setup she pulls straight and handles great under 110km/h. Im not a speed demon, but get tired of being behind the guys with duramax and cummins, sorry guys, but when a 1/2 ton has bigger brakes and better stability than other 3/4 tons, it justifys the F150 share of sales. (Add anarchy here). Oh, and notice how much it doesnt sag with proper hitch setup. (1500 lb tongue weight).

I tow our new 2014 Voltage Epic 3800 with a Silverado 3500 dually. I replaced the OEM bed with a Highway Products aluminum bed. I like having all the toolboxes for my stuff, and the Reese 30K is easily removed and I can load our Polaris RZR in the bed for those places we can't ride to the trail head.

You guys will think I'm crazy, and I probably am....but here's what I tow my V3605 with. Honestly, it's done exceptionally well but I have only towed her here in the relatively flat TX.

I don't think your crazy at all. With price of diesel and the added maintenance costs the Ram 2500 Hemi is a very viable tow vehicle.
I wish I would have had the option when I bought my 6.7l Cummins.

Where you are at it should be fine, just don't tow heading west or northwest..

It will depend a great deal on the weight you are pulling, where and how often
I pull with a Ram 3500 6.7l Cummins. It also our daily driver and a pig on fuel. Got all the power I need to get over the Rockies, but did I mention the fuel economy sucks.
Ram now has a 2500 with the 6.4l Hemi, the stated fuel ecomomy was better than the 5.7l Hemi when Crysler introduced it. The thing That appeals to me about the 2500 is the 4 link rear suspension, they ride like and car. I would be seriously consider the Hemi if I were buying a TV today.
Given the added cost of fuel and higher maintenance costs, the deisel is not the cost effective power the it used to be.
If you are towing in the mountains with a gasser, you just have to plan to take a little longer to get there. Not neccesarily a bad thing.

As hddecker notes, look at what you are using your tow vehicle for.
I have a 2011 Silverado 3500 4WD dually duramax. Yup, hauling the 3800 I'm getting about 9.5 MPG. I like that I have a truck that is rated to pull and stop the Voltage.
But, also, about the only thing I use the Silverado for is to pull the Voltage, my equipment trailer, dump trailer or enclosed trailer...the rest of the time it sits quietly on its concrete parking pad.
I use a 2002 Dodge Dakota 4-dr pick-up for my daily driver.

'pends on what you are pulling and how much cushion you want.
I have a 2003 Ford F150 4.6l V8, factory tow package and 3:55ls rear end. Ford claims it is good to 6,800# towing. I have towed a tad over 6k with it, but wouldn't want to leave the flat ground. It will tow 5,000# range all day long, but a bit slow up the hills. I also have a 1996 Ford F350, plus cab SRW, 7.3PSD 4x4 with 4:56 gears that will pull just about anything as long as you don't want to go over 55mph, we don't discuss mileage on that beast. I have had over 26,000# rolling behind it more than once.

I agree quite a bit depends upon what you are towing & where you are towing it to. Flat ground trailer under 8500-9000 GVWR a full size gas truck would do just fine. Once you move up in GVWR or tow out here where they are REAL mountains diesel, is the only way as far as I'm concerned.

I started with a 6.7 SRW F250 which was fine for most of our camping where we are within 1 hour of our house. I wasnt so happy with it when I went on a long trip. Upgraded to the F350 DRW and so glad I did. That thing is extremely stable. I use mine as a daily driver.

I have a 2011 Ford F250 6.7 Diesel, truck tows great with a 2015 294RKSS Aerolite. I also pull a 32' Tag Race trailer (which is more weight than the travel trailer) with it, no problems.
The only mods I have to the truck are Firestone airbags to level the trailer.

Howdy folks new to this forum.
After 15 years of kicking tires trying to decide on which RV, I ended up with a great combination (or so I thought) see sig line below. am pulling an 8-9000 lb. 35' TT with no problem.
I made a trip to the Dunes over Father's day weekend. Fell in love with an XP1000 4 Side by that is 146" in length. I want that beast, but now have to reconfigure...
Went to the local dealer last weekend and looked at the New Voltage 3818 (18' rear Cargo area), and like the floor plan of the 3990 (12' rear cargo) EPIC III best. They are both north of 16,000 lbs. empty. XP10004 weighs 1600 lbs. I would be 18-19,000 loaded. Salesman swears my truck would have no problem pulling it. I see in my old Silverado brochure it says 16,800 5th wheel max and 24,500 GCWR. Add fuel and water, food etc.
1. I am thinking that I am going to be waaaaay over. We go over the Cascades and to the Coast, so always in the Hills.
2. I have read that the XP1000 4 would fit in a 12' area with either front tires up on a ramp, or deflated, can anyone confirm?
Thoughts please?
Thanks,
'13 Chevy Silverado 3500 Crew 4x4 Duramax SRW
'13 Primetime LaCrosse 35' TT Touring Edition
