This is our new Chevy Colorado extended cab, long box lt rwd and or old tow vehicle the trailblazer the new one wheel base 128 length 212 and HP 305 tows 7000 LBS the one I m in crew cab
We joined a new camping family just in time for our 2ed year in 3 out it is the Family Campers and RVers of Ohio and for the first time in over 14 years we are planning a trip to Chattanooga Tennessee and plan to stay on a skirmish site that the battle of Chattanooga was fought on and finally have a slide topper on this spring our new Chevy Colorado is the truck of the year from motor trend.
today i have my new cover on this is the Chevy My link i has a back up camera and shows and can control you I pod from the wheel as well your cell phone
we are getting ready for season 2 of our Kodiak i think the wait was good we have a brand new tuck a new club an our first long RV road trip since 2000 we are going to Chattanooga Tennessee in July staying at a battle site campground and just a few changes and will be set
we are getting ever so close to pull out our rig from a slumber started in November 2013 last spring and fall many changes outside as well inside a second hose carrier a hinge for under bed storage and new upgraded reading lights a new brake a way cable new battery staring a conversion to led it doesn't help when your RV has more than a x mas tree and we havent scratch the surface it may take months to years to get it 100% but we chip away little
here are more of thee changes made in the last 12 months the piano hinge also from a Amazon i have found since l been makeing changes to our kodiak looking for parts this site has the most diverse range of parts the new hose carrier is for my tank hose I lost in September 2013 it is at an angle to drain & sealed after install to prevent declamation of the Fiberglas
if you have a Kodiak or some other Thor brand you think they would put reading lights in but many don't still getting the bugs out next week it will be in service first time since November 2013
the work goes on this is the new LED reading lights done if you are thinking of this the boards that this is made of is like very thin and I had to make many mods to get it right but it is an major improvement than the factory ones
This is the difference between a 2003 trailblazer and a 2015 chevy colorado as our tow vehicle these are some the things I notice with the two but the back story is we pickup the kodiak with a third one before we had the trailblazer an 2003 Ford Expedition this new truck is 2 1/2 feet longer than the ford both in wheelbase and length in high wends it handle better than the suv and today it was a lot better I had use a new Curt Triflex controller I think this was one of thee best I have used over my close to 20 years towing it handle beautifully
the first picture was a test look of what our topper could be the result was a carefree kover III anti wind deflector and a sleek look our first new club outing is less than a week away
Kodiak 2013
I'm a pretty handy guy if I do say so myself and I've been trying to decide whether or not to do my own side awning install, did you install the slide awning or did you have an RV service install it? If you DIY'ed it, can you explain any of the pitfalls to watch out for?
I would like to put some in site how the new Chevy mid size tows a 27 foot Kodiak 241 RBSL we were close to 5350 pounds with an E2 fast away hitch a week from last weekend on the way home we had 0 payload the next day Sunday April 19 2015 we had 700 in the bed payload with our Kodiak 241 RBSL going up a 15% grade to our storage lot it didn't even hurt the 1/2 mile climb we average 49 MPH this was a good test and passed well
