On my 2020 Kodiak Cub 198BH there is a Winegard something or other on the roof. In the trailer is a coax connection, There are no buttons or switches. What the heck is this for?

Likely part of the Winegard satellite system that requires more hardware to use. They make tv antennas and also internet/wifi equipment. I would not use it as most cellular carriers offer plans with hotspot services that will work just fine in most cases and do not require any hardware.

It is also a broadcast TV amplifier....it's omnidirectional so not super sensitive but may give you more channels than you will get otherwise. At the coax connection there may be a little button....push it and if you see a green led come on...that's power for the TV amp....

Good call and in my case the amp makes a huge difference when using the antenna for over the air digital broad casts. More and more I just stream and use my phone as a hot spot so I use it less and less but still on occasion.
