Trailair pin box setup/clearance V3200

I have noticed that the Trail air system pinbox seems to be deeper and longer that other pinbox designs. What clearance do I need between the top of my box and the underside of the fifth to ensure I do not damage my truck in a sharp turn? Thanks in advance for the advice.

Ive never had an issue with jackknifing my trailer for clearance. But I do as a rule of thumb to set my hitch height so that I have 6" between the bed rails and underside of the nose. Also maintain air pressure in the bag to keep the shock at the top of the arrow indicator.

Same here no issues.. I have 8 inches but I am running 235/80/16 G rated and an Anderson ULTIMATE 5th WHEEL connection on a 11 mega cab. And run the shock at the top of line as well.. about 80 psi with no water and 95 with half to 3/4 tank of water.

Unable to adjust the TrailAir up.

I have about 12.5" between the top of rail on my truck and the bottom of the fifth wheel. I would like to push the TrailAir pin box up to the next set of holes which would give me an additional 2.5" of overall top end clearance that I badly need. Unfortunately, the welds on the face of the TrailAir will not allow it to go up inside the trailer mount any further. Has anyone else had this problem, is it okay to grind the weld down without harming the ingrity of the TrailAir?

Why would you need so much clearance between the bed rail and underside of the nose? With trying to get more clearance ( if I read that right) what is the angle your trailer is riding at? It must really nose hi, and dragging the rear bumper. Thats not good for tore wear and axle bearing loads if thats what your trying to do.

07dmax360, quite the opposite, i have too much clearance between the bed and the underside of the nose and I'm trying to push the hitch up into the mounting box thus reducing that 12.5" down to 10". I think 10" is still too much, but this is the last option for dropping the nose that I have,

Hitch on the truck is at the lowest setting and I still have 12.5" of space between the top rail of the truck and the bottom of the trailer nose. That's why I trying to figure out how to get the TrailAir king pin moved up a notch, which it is made for, thus dropping the nose 2.5". Unfortunately, certain factory welds on the front of the TrailAir king pin prevent it from moving up into the trailer box. Basically, when I push it up a notch, the bolts holes won't line up, the whole king pin unit gets moved back about 1/2" because of the factory welds. The holes are there to allow moving it up, they just won't line up for the bolts.
