Well folks, this is my first attempt to add to the discussions in the forum. Not sure if I am doing it right but here goes.:)
We are not new to camping and from what I am reading, it seems everyone has problems with their new trailers / camping units. All I can say is that over the years, we have accumulated a mountain of RV knowledge and it came from the same problems you describe and more. Traditionally we would buy used trailers / RV's and being handy, make do.
Our previous unit was a 33 foot motor home. Great unit, used it for 5 years and sold it (Retirement downsize) and purchased a new 2011 Dutchmen Lite 286 BHGS travel trailer in 2013. Yes there are a couple of issues (Bad water pump and curtains failing) but otherwise it is ok. Make note that a travel trailer is not the same quality as motor home so I expected a few adjustments to be made, mostly my attitude.
Just want to say that the dealer I deal with is excellent and the manufacturer has been very positively responsive to requests.
Best regards

Thanks to all for the welcome messages. Trailer is currently in hibernation, Canadian winters do not allow for recreation time, it is shoveling time. Anyway, we spent last summer traveling Southern Ontario and attending Country Music Festivals. Fantastic summer. Because we do daily routine inspections on the things that are potential failure items, we were fortunate enough to have no trailer problems. I believe the secret to having no problems is to do a listed inspection each day before hitting the road. Only thing we changed last summer was the mattress so i can snoooooore better.
best regards
Doug
