Rubber roof

Good day all.
Have just purchased a Dutchman 31 bl.
The only problem I have found is the ladder on the rear is not solid under the rubber roof.
There is no evidence of tearing or leakage.
It is a 2003. The roof doesn’t look maintained.
Any suggestions?
Or just replace the rubber roof membrane.

I would think you may have structural issues under the ladder.

Tough to say what to do with the roof since we can't look at it in detail. From what you say about it doesn't look like it has been maintained and it is sixteen years old I would strongly consider replacing it. Water is the number one killer of RVs.

I have a 2011 Kodiak QB200. The roof brackets were becoming loose about four years ago. The screws didn't haven't much purchase into the roofing sub-surface. I didn't see any signs of water damage or leakage. I packed glue soaked toothpicks into the area, allowed them to dry thoroughly and re-screwed. Applied a generous amount of caulking. It's been good since then.

My ladder goes through the rubber roof.
It is screwed down underneath .
I will do a new roof and fix the plywood next spring.
And get a ladder that does not attach through the roof.

We purchased this 2008 Grand Junction last Fall with the intention of fixing it up, making it our own, so to speak. We decided to replace the roof membrane as the first chapter. I organized myself last Fall, getting together all the materials & planning my approach. The wood used is actually for my master bedroom renovation in my home here, but it’s first duty was to be used for scaffolding ! The frame under the front cap was to support the cap as it has to be rotated forward at the top in order to tuck the EPDM membrane under it…conversely at the rear, the rubber goes on top of the cap, these two different install methods prevent rain etc., from being forced under the caps during travel. If the members or yourself are interested in the roof replacement, I can post pics & text from start to finish.
