I recently bought a 2025 Astoria. While washing it today before I put it away. I noticed on the rear of the trailer there is a bracket for a back up camera. Are there wires there somewhere to wire one up, and if so what would you recommend. Thanks in advance

If it’s the shark fin type by Furrion, there should be power connections behind the cover plate. It’s a relatively low resolution (720p I believe) but better than most. The bad part about it is that you need to use their monitor in the cab of your vehicle. The problem is that if you go with this system, there are lots of options to add cameras to the system to view the sides and even the interior of your rv.

Lots of options out there.

I purchased a couple of cameras that interface with my phone but the problem is that you need to attach to them via your internet connection-real pain! I have not found anything Yet) that works with an iPhone easily…

I use an iPad (one of the small ones) to monitor the truck operation (especially what gear I’m in, turbo charger operation, fuel consumption, etc). I wanted it to be able to interface with a back up camera. I’ve got so many things on my windshield, there’s not room enough for another item, dedicated to a back up camera. . If you find anything that works well with an apple device, let me know…

By the way, I have a 2024 GMC that is supposed to have the invisible trailer camera but my rv is longer than the max length for it to work properly for backing up but I really like it for use as a “rear view mirror “ when traveling. The camera shows up on my console.

By the way it's a 2025 Dutchman Astoria,, FW 230ML 5th wheel
Hi - I am considering the purchase of a 230ml. My concern is the many negative reviews I have seen of the brand. I'm thinking the past quality issues may be due to covid, but I don't want to buy something that will have more problems than most. I'm also a little turned off by the lack of a suspension system and auto leveling. How has your experience been so far? Do you feel it has a good build quality? I know you haven't had it too long, but what are your initial impressions?

Auto leveling is the bomb!
