no power to 2017 voltage 3005

hey guys, just bought this about a year ago, everything is rad.



i just decided to make the change to 4 6v batteries to get more AH.



i have everything hooked up right, but no power. just in case i didnt setup them correctly, i hooked two up in series to get 12v, still no power.



i checked the breakers in the pantry bottom, all good. and i have the shutoff switch to green.



what am i missing?
 
sorry, cant find an edit button. here is more intel and ive tried to isolate.


batteries are solid and full. all fuses next to breakers inside are intact.


i hooked generator cord up to the batteries, started gennie just fine, no power to rig.


i plugged 50amp cord into rig from house, everything worked on rig.


i am attaching pics from the battery compartment, doesnt seem anything is loose or missing. do these items go bad?

If you followed proper procedure and hooked everything up correctly, then it would work.

Possible issues:

Two 6 volt batteries should be wired in series for 12 volts output.
Two pairs of 6 volt batteries producing 12 volts output should be wired in parallel.
The entire bank of batteries produces 12 volt output.

There may be a battery disconnect switch next to the battery bank. It must be "ON".

There may be an inverter/charger disconnect or high capacity fuse in the positive cable to the inverter.

Inverter/charger probably has short circuit protection and reverse polarity protection. Check to see if fuses on inverter are blown or circuit breaker tripped.

Battery connecting cables can be "hot" even when disconnected in an RV. Even a brief short circuit to ground can blow fuses and trip circuit breakers. Always insulate connectors intermediately on disconnect.

Measure voltage on battery bank connections. Follow voltage until it is lost.
Measure voltage on inverter/charger output.
Measure voltage on main fuse panel.

Different RV's have different equipment and configuration. As your source said, it can be anything expected or unexpected.
 
figured it out with help from a neighbor. bottom 12v shortstop is bad, and the cable coming from battery was on wrong side of bus bar.
