Hello to All!
We are new to the forum! :)

We are proud owners of a 2015 2390 RKS Aspen Trailer. We moved up from a Lite-Craft pop up camper that sits on top of the bed of my husband truck - so owning this trailer is a luxury now with two little kiddos. :) We loved everything about this trailer until last week.

We decided on a camping trip this year during our son's spring break which we thought would be fun and our kiddos love taking the trailer everywhere we go.
While driving out on the freeway, we noticed on one side of the trailer the metal siding was "bubbling" out...never noticed it before when taking the trailer out on trips last year. The unexpected happened and the siding broke off while driving on the freeway. It was a terrible scene and luckily the siding was held on by some of the metal and did not fly onto on-coming vehicles. The winds were pretty fierce that day as well.
While trying to form the metal siding and to connect it back, we noticed that the sidings were held by staples, no rivets or screws to hold these in place. We were able to Scotch tape up the siding and found a couple of screws to hold it back in place. We had to cancel the trip and head back home slowly.

Has this every happened to anyone while driving and the metal sliding literally popping off? We contacted the manufacture but they didn't disclose or say anything other than our warranty has expired and good luck to you.

Thanks!

I haven't read about the siding problem here but I can attest to the fact that we are given the finger from the manufacturer the very second they discover we are three minutes out of warranty.
Unfortunately, you are on your own to have the repairs made or do them yourself. Fortunately, you now are in the position to make the siding install as it should have been done in the first place. Contact a siding contractor and see if they will assist you in keeping the siding on the RV.

Welcome to the forums! Once you are out of warranty it is ALL yours, no matter how bad the factory screwed it up. In fact even in warranty it is a battle to get things fixed much of the time.

They started stapling siding on RV's back in the late 70's. Sounds like something got missed and the wind got under it. Biggest challenge will be to find the correct siding and get it all put back together. You may need to remove the top molding and rail to get it done properly. Do you have any pictures of the mess? We might be able to walk you through the repairs. It is a bit different from house style siding. They start at the bottom and work up, unlike house siding it isn't easy to snap a new piece into the middle.

Thank you for all your quick responses! And especially right about warranties! @wahoonc, thank you for offering to help out with our repairs - we were able to find a couple of companies that offer sidings for us to repair our trailer..what a pain but it has to get done. We are definitely going to "ruggedize" our sidings on both sides. We don't want this to happen again.
Thanks again, here's to stronger sidings!
