My name is Bruce, I live in southern Maryland with my wife Dauna,15 yr old stepson Scott, and 3 yrd old daughter Kailah. I went tent camping for quite a few years by myself until I got married, we did a few tent campings together, and she refused to do the tent camping, and so I retired from camping, lol. So now(finally!) we have our first camper and I'm back in the camping world, a new 2012 Kodiak 284BHSL towed by our 2005 Dodge Durango. Until now my towing experience has been my Andersen 6X12 utility trailer, Iv'e got a lot to learn in turning/backing. Glad to be in the company of some fellow Dutchmen, sure to get many of my questions answered here ;-hap .

Hi Bruce,

Welcome to the group. :-cong on your new purchase.

Enjoy your stay.

Welcome to the forum, Bruce! Congratulations on your new TT. I have to say, I'm with your wife. Tent camping with a little one, though it can be done, is not very fun, IMHO. A trailer makes it so much easier and gives you so much more time to enjoy your family and the outdoors. Happy camping!

How do you like towing with the Durango? I bought a Pathfinder for boring some while ago but should have went with something with a solid rear axle.

Hello all, just stumbled on this forum, glad to see a Duchman/ Komfort site. We just bought a Komfort 3650 ffl 5ver and we are picking it up this saturday. Really excited to pick it up and get camping. We traded in a wildcat 32 QBBS , belonged to the wildcat forum and got a lot of useful info from it, hope to do the same here. My name is Mark, my wife of 24 years is Tammie, we have a daughter Sarah, and a faithful camping buddy named Lady Like many we started tent camping, did that for many years, then decided to jump right into the wildcat. Now soon to be proud owners of a Komfort 3650ffl.
Just wanted to add, we live in central new jersey, just across the delaware from PA.

Thanks for all the welcomes ;-hap . lmsteck, you are right about tent camping with a little one, I don't think it woulda worked out very well. thejean, at times it has been pretty smooth and easy towing with the Durango, but when we went on our first camping trip with things loaded in the storage area and in the camper, there was a little bouncy affect sometimes on the Durango end, my wife was getting nervous about it, but I just kept steady wheel and didn't go to fast and we made it alright, I don't feel like we overloaded it or anything. Haven't attempted going over mountains in Western MD or WV yet though, lol, that otta be fun. Welcome Mark!

From one 284BHSL owner to another, Welcome!
Thanks Dave, glad there are others here with the same exact model, will help out a lot if I need any advice or anything.

Hello all! My family and I will be taking delivery of our "new" (to us) 2009 Kodiak Scamper 23tt this Thursday. We've been on the hunt for a hybrid that would suit our needs for some time, so we're very excited. I was glad to find this forum and hope I'm able to add some value to it as well as learn from others.

Our family has done quite a bit of camping over the years in a traditional tt. We made the decesion to down-size a bit to lighten our load. The hybrid experience will be new to us, but I think we will really enjoy it.

Welcome to the forum DawgLB and congratulations on your new TT! :-tup

Thx Imsteck ! tomorrow is the big morning for us, so we are primmed. I'm excited about being a member of this board as well. Hopefully the membership here will grow steadily and everyone will benefit!

Thx Coops & rgolding. We got our rig home Thursday evening and everthing went pretty smoothly. I was a little concerned when the tech at Camping World had some troubles setting up our Reese Dual Cam WDH & sway control. He finally got it all on after a couple of hours. I was afraid it might not perform correctly and give me some sway issues on the 1 hr drive home, but all went well. She tracked wonderfully and didn't get out of line. She looks nice sitting in the driveway, but I'm ready for the woods!

Good day all
I was cruising around the big WWW and found this site when I was searching for some info on my Trailer, so I decided to stop on by and say Hi (wave). I picked up my new trailer about a month ago. Its a komfort 3650 ffl, this is my second trailer that I have owned. I use it mostly for out of town work, so my trailer gets used 12 months a year from hot summer to the cold cold winter. Hope to see you all around.
