Hi, wanted to introduce myself. I retired a few years back so my wife and I could do more camping and visiting. This spring, after going to the RV show, decided to upgrade our 2-year old trailer, an Aeroite, to a Denali 289RK. More room when grandkids join us camping. I live in Calgary Alberta and plan some excursions into the states to visit one of our daughters who is married and lives in Oxford Alabama. Also have a bother-in-law in Norco California. So got lots of good excuses to visit the States. Plan on a short camping trip in the next month to Osoyoos and Waterton.

Looked at some of the forums, look very interesting.

Anyway, glad to join your family of RV'ers.

Hello Retired2009! So nice to meet you! Very nice rig! :-tup We'd love to see some photos! (I really like the rear kitchen, so much counter space to work with!) Welcome to the forum!

Hi Reired2009.

Welcome to the group; and :-cong on your new Denali. :-tup

Have fun,

Funny story here, myself and Retired2009 worked together on a project back in 2008 and ran into each other for the first time on Wednesday since that time and after we got to talking/catching up, we realized that we were both on this forum! And it's not as if Calgary is a tiny city - we have a million people! What are the chances? Crazy.

That is crazy! Like finding a needle in a haystack!

Hello Retired 2009 and all,
I retired April 2012 and bought a Denali 289RK in October. Spring has been so bad in Minnesota we have only gone 1 time. The unit is good, towes better after I bought the Reese sway cam set up. I am glad to see others liked the same unit I did.

Welcome to the forum....We also have the 289RK and really like this floor plan.
I retired two years ago myself and went on a long (14,000) mile TT vacation last year. We loved it and saw a LOT of the US.
At least you'll love the gas prices south of the border (funny, that means something else where I live!) compared to Canada......

Welcome...

Glen (AKA Denali2012)..have you ever been North into the West Kootnay area of BC...we used to live very near the Canada/US border on the Columbia River at Trail? The wife used to make regular shopping junkets to Spokane and take me along......I liked the inexpensive gas and beer as well as you could buy a six pack of beer at grocery stores and gas stations...we are still not civilized North of the 49th in BC yet still need to go to a pub or liquorstore to buy a six pack...
Coops

Coops.....when we bought our Miata two years ago, we went north into Canada in its first week. We went up through Kamloops and Kalona...west on 99(?) to mile marker 100 road than south through Whistler and then back into the US to the North Cascades highway and east to Spokane.....over 2,000 miles, all with the top down and some of the most beautiful scenery anyone could possibly imagine.
We would like to do the same trip again with the TT....but probably would take the corners slower!!!
We go up to Calgary and Trail all the time just for a day trip.....
