We just picked up our new 2016 Denali 287RE !!! What a beautiful travel trailer. Being a newbie, still practicing manuvering & backing up this extra long trailer, before heading out for her maiden voyage. Any tips would be greatly appreciated about equipment i should carry or anything else I should be aware for this 287RE?
My tow vehicle 2016 GMC 3500 longbed 4x4. love it!

Welcome to the forum.

The must haves for me are my tool kit, a roll of aluminum duct tape (temporary patchs for roof or siding), a tube of self leveling caulk, a few of plumbing fittings, spare light bulbs and fuses, emergency road flares and a 12V compressor.

You will probably start out taking more stuff than you really need and will find there is stuff you load into a corner and never use. Every year we go through the process of getting rid of anything we haven't used on a regular basis.

Hi Mark, we picked up our 287RE mid December. We just love it too! Having those two opposed slides is the bomb.
A couple of suggestions for things I found on ours: It's hard to make the bed with the curtain brackets where they are. In fact, DW tore one out the first time she tried to make the bed. I removed the rest of them, now there's nothing to snag things on. We also set the bed up so our feet are toward the outside. It's less claustrophobic that way. Next, if you have the same latching hardware on the drawers as we do, they're going to have issues. Take one of the bedroom drawers out, (they're just like residential slides) and you'll find the latches are attached to a wood block that's stapled on - and they come loose. I removed all of the drawers in the camper and put 1 1/4" screws (pre drilled holes) in to secure the blocks to the cabinet frame. Third - if you have the LED push button lamps like ours, you're probably going to find the switch quits working. After three 'failed' I took the lens off (turn counterclockwise - they are tough to get off) and found the plunger that activates the switch is just a bit too long, and will slip out of position. I took a razor blade and trimmed a small bit off, and the problem goes away. Just be sure the cut is good and square.

Aside from those small glitches, our three outings have been tremendous. We absolutely love this camper! And, you'll have no problems pulling it with your truck.
