Hi everyone. Just joining in and looking forward to some camping. Bought a Coleman Light series 2515RL. Nice trailer it seems for the money.

I have't been camping in several years and back then it was a Fleetwood pop-up.
Big difference for me and a lot more worry about when driving.

Looking forward to reading and posting here.

Take care.

Welcome I am sure you will find it much nicer than you popup with all the conveniences of a new trailer.
I would fire up the fridge, hot water heater and furnace in the driveway and spend a night in it before you head out for your first trip. For the first trip I would pick some place close to home.
You will probably find out if dry camping that one battery doesn't last long maybe one night if using a furnace.
Good luck and have fun...

Welcome aboard, I have had 2016 CTS 16 FB since new and after quite a few mods "to make it my own" We really love it, graduated up from a PUP and never looked back. You will love it short set up/ breakdown, just open the door to pack & unpack plus all the conveniences and especially in inclement weather. Good Luck and Happy Camping

Welcome to the forums!

The Coleman's are decent deal for the money, pretty old school construction so fairly easy to work on once you learn the tricks. Fun to mod too. I always figure on spending about 10% of the purchase price of my RV on upgrades (just to give you a heads up!).

Me TOO

We just picked up our Coleman Light 2605RL on Friday (3/30/18). Hopefully, we'll have good luck as well. Unfortunately, Camping World did not check everything over before delivery, so now we have to go back. Disappointing delivery; but hoping years of fun will make up for it!!

Welcome to the forums! Unfortunately you have experienced the typical dealer experience. It is strongly recommended when purchasing an RV that you do your own thorough PDI PRIOR to signing on the dotted line just to avoid the situation you were handed.

Good luck in getting the issues resolved. If it is something simple just ask, we can probably walk you through the steps to correct it and save you the time and aggravation of dealing with the dealer.

Which CampingWorld location was this? My wife & I are picking up our first travel trailer Saturday from the Grand Rapids location.

Doesn't matter, Better if you do the inspection based on the inspection and pre-delivery sheets that have been posted here in the past. Unless it's obvious (like it has three tires and supposed to have four), they will usually miss LOTS!

New To Forum

Hello Everyone,
We are old campers new to forum. We purchased our 7th tt but longest yet, we are towing with a EcoBoost F150 so far so good I am impressed with this setup have towed about 3500 miles so far and headed to Florida next week from VA. Anybody mount a TV in the bedroom? looking to put a 23 inch in there and wondering if it will support.
Thanks and "Happy Trails"

Common problem. Wishing you good luck with the dealer. This time I would recommend you insist on staying there until they go over everything with you once again!
I downloaded a check list and followed it. The young man assigned to me had a smart smile on his face, but to his credit, he stuck with me all day...I was there from 9am to just about 4pm. I drove out to Knoxville TN from Tucson area to pick up my used (new to me) Coleman CTU 249RB TT. Tennessee RV was the dealer and they were great.

Even with my lists and my questions...I still got back to Arizona with more questions....and have found the answers here on the forum. So try hard to keep them interested in you as a customer by asking those pesky questions...and go from the top to the bottom of the trailer. Learn where every drain is, every vent...etc...

New here.

Hey everyone. We recently purchased a brand new Coleman 2755BH. Never owned a camper before and we are looking to make some improvements but having a hard time finding what we are looking for.

1. Looking for the best solar options to use with the already wired solar to keep the battery charged all the time. What kind of Wattage are we looking at and best you've purchased.

2. Upgrade the Dometic fridge. Not cooling properly and definitely doesn't stay cold when it does.

3. Had anyone ever tried non trailer tires for their camper and do you love then.

1. Wattage will depend upon your draw. How much per your use. Recommend you consider a lithium/solar package from a major supplier. After you have determined your usage.

2. Your fridge should work just fine. It will take a while to cool down but should be able to maintain freezer/fridge temps in hot weather. I love in Arizona. Mine works fine. Study up on fridges. Lots of info on you tube.

3. Tires. Trailer tires are necessary on an RV. The sidewalls are designed to handle the loads, are more resistant to sway. More resistant to sheer forces during turns. Recommend only Endurance brand. USA made. Best value.

Yup! Goodyear Endurance gets my vote…

Getting a fridge that runs on 120 volts plus propane is a little tricky, I have heard of a few fridges that were improved over the standard fridge. I also have heard that the Amish developed a fridge that was supposed to be pretty good…. Are you looking for solar for dry camping? There is someone on here called Leisure solar, they would be your best bet for answering your questions about solar. Congrats on the new RV and here’s to much happiness in your camping adventures. Do you have any planned?

By the way, from the picture-how much squat do you have (in inches)?

My apologies about being so brief. I have a serious cold and wasn't feeling good.
Let me expand:
Fridge. The most usual reasons these fridges don't work well is air flow. They need a good vent front bottom to top. If your fridge is in a side, then that's even more of a problem because the top vent is just barely about the fridge coils. Regardless, take the top vent off and look down into the slot that exists on the back of the fridge. This is all outside. You should see a clean pathway to the bottom. Any excess empty areas need to be sealed. The only obstructions you should see are the fridge coils.
My fridge cools better on AC than gas. I took apart the bottom of the burner assembly( 1 screw) and found mud dobber houses. Cleaned those out and bought screens for all my burner ports( fridge, water heater, heater). Cheap. I used silver tape to seal around my fridge vent area to make for smoother air flow. There are you tube videos showing these issues and fixes.

Solar. I recommend you live with your current system until you know your current draw. I changed all my interior lights to leds. 16 bulbs. Then both my wife Ava I got used to changing our lifestyle to limit battery usage. I went from 1 12 volt battery to 2 6 volt golf cart batteries. That was a huge improvement as they can be drawn down before 50% without damage. But still not enough. We boondock fire a week at a time. I bought a 100 watt solid suitcase(Renogy) and it works great. But we wanted more. Finally made the leap to lithium. 200amp battery. Moved it inside near the power center. Kept the old battery wires up front to be used as a emergency power tap or to connect up the solar. Rewired the input/output of the power center to the new battery. Added a battery shut off and a shunt. I can now go camping for a full week without charging! We don't use the microwave, or hair dryers so no need for an inverter. I spent 2 years living with trailer, learning from you tubes and forums. It's really simple stuff. BTW, I'm 76 years young. Retired. Not an electrician!!! I did it, you can too.

Tires. Goodyear Endurance. Pay the money upfront. Keep your tires inflated to close to max cold rated on tires. 65psi is max for "D" rated tires. I run 60 psi since my rig, loaded, is less than the trailer max. My trailer max is 6400lbs. It usually tests at a CAT scale from 5600 to 5800lbs. So i run 60psi. Perfect for my rig.

Load up. Full water, full propane, empty waste tanks then find a CAT scale. Weigh your truck, your trailer then both. You tube videos on how to do that. Most scale guys will work with you and help you out. Just remember, truckers come first.
That's it for me. Welcome to the RVing club! Be safe, take your time and enjoy learning this new adventure !
