Just purchased a 2016 Aerolite 298RESL. Real happy with the purchase. Already been on a week trip with it.

I'm here to learn about the trailer. My manual is kind of generic.

I chose this trailer because it was one of the few rear entertainment models that I could pull with a 1/2 ton. King bed to boot!

Here are some Dutchman provided pics of my model:

Welcome Aboard!

Yea, that IS a sweet rig. Really nice. (I'm an Aerolite man, admittedly)

34' hooked to that bumper. :D
It might pull it, but I'm betting you know she's back there?

Pulling (power) is not the problem. I was going 75mph effortlessly on my last trip.

The rear springs are weak. The Fastway E2 WD hitch takes care of that.

I was concerned about towing prior to buying with all that I read on these types of forums. I'm pleasantly surprised how well it pulls it.

I have just over 1600lbs of GVWR to play with. The trailer takes about 900lbs loaded. Gas 200lbs. Two people 350lbs. 100lbs of junk. I'm using all of the 1600lbs. I would say this trailer is at the end of what can be pulled with a 1/2 ton.

I changed my in-dash trailer brake controller setting to heavy. It won't lock up the wheels but it gives good stopping power. I keep the gain at 6 and that gives me a good tug when I apply the brakes.

Check your tires. Factory stock ST (special trailer) tires are rated only to 65 mph Max!

My plan was to keep it at 60. It pulls better at 65.

While passing on the interstate, I kicked it up to the "75" only shortly. It had no issues doing it. Could do it up a hill too.

I'm getting 11mpg while doing 60mph. 10.8mpg at 65mph. Pretty good I think.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of great info here.
We will be camping in Yemassee, SC for one night on the 11th on the way to the NC mountains.

Welcome!!

Welcome to the forum. I store my trailer in Ft. Pierce FL. I live down south and pick it up on the drive north. You have a real nice trailer. Lots of great camping trips ahead!!

Welcome to the forum and congrats, we just bought our first TT and our floor plan in almost like yours, the kind we have is in my signature.

We looked at the Denali. We really like them. It's about 130lbs more on the hitch and 1.2k overall. Just more than I could tow.

I really wanted a LaCrosse 328 RES. Maybe after I upgrade trucks in a few years?

Yes the LaCrosse are very nice when I retired about three years ago I wanted a truck to tow and I knew that I wanted a 3/4 ton to tow whatever we bought. I had to order it to get the 4.10 gears but I wanted what I wanted so I didn't care, they all have about the same floor plan I see.

We been down to Myrtle Beach, S.C about a couple of years ago and love it, we are talking about back there one day, since I grew up in Goldsboro, N.C. I think that it will be a good drive there from WA State.

Okay, cool, I'm retired Army with twenty-eight years in and loved it, I was first station there back in 1973, I live in the Lakewood area now.

I went out to FT. Lewis to see if I can store my rv there but active duty is first and then retired, man it show would be great if I could have store it there, the price was about $30 to $45 dollars and now I pay $87 dollars but I'm cool with it.

I like the one you have now, I think that it look slick, yeah we wanted a 5'er but those are a little more money for us so maybe down the road sometime.
