I need to be able to troubleshoot the starting system on my 2009 Kodiak Dutchman 34' Class C motorhome. New batteries but will not crank at all.

Have you tried to start in neutral? This bypasses an interlock that engages if you’re not in park.

Wouldn’t that be looking at the workshop manual for the cab manufacturers?

I don’t know what it’s is but could be dodge or ford etc.

I suspect a starter but could be wiring or relay or fuses or dozens of other things. Worst one I found was a much too small wire was being used for a starter and it melted. Still had continuity for a multimeter, but the wire was starting to melt away.

Sometimes motorhomes will not crank if the slides are not completely closed and there could be a bad sensor there as well. I am just guessing as my engine is in the truck that tows my trailer!

I would lean this direction as well. Vehicles that come with factory remote starts do something similar if it detects something out of place, like low voltage, a fault code, bad door lock, etc. so thats what comes to mind, a faulty sensor is preventing it from starting.

Not sure what year they started doing this, but the computer runs through a series of checks before it engages the starter. Plug in an ODB2 code reader and see if any codes are set, which is always a good starting point, and should be the first thing done. The signal wire that engages the starters solenoid comes from the PCM, so a wiring diagram may not be much help. Of course check the grounds and the main Positive cables for corrosion and looseness, and the solenoid which more than likely resides on the starter. The codes though should be read first, just to be safe. If there IS something preventing it from starting, you really dont want to go around it and start the engine only to have it fail and cost more to fix.

A lot of suggestions, but what I don't see is what chassis and drive train. Looks like some are C5500 chassis with Duramax diesel and some with gas. A factory wiring diagram from Chevrolet would be a good start.
